Colleagues And Fans Honor Klaus Otto Nagorsnik On Anniversary

Tributes pour in as beloved quiz show figure is remembered on first anniversary of his death.

As the first anniversary of Klaus Otto Nagorsnik's passing approaches, colleagues and fans of the beloved quiz show figure are sharing heartfelt tributes. Nagorsnik, who served as a "Jäger" on the ARD quiz show "Gefragt – Gejagt," passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2024, at the age of 68.

Since its debut in 2015, "Gefragt – Gejagt" has captivated millions of viewers with its engaging format, where a team of four contestants competes against a formidable quiz master known as the "Jäger." Nagorsnik, affectionately dubbed "the librarian" by fans, was a standout among the show's Jägers, known for his extensive knowledge and charming presence.

On the first anniversary of his death, tributes poured in from his colleagues. Alexander Bommes, the host of "Gefragt – Gejagt," shared a poignant memory during the "NDR Talk Show," revealing that Nagorsnik did not show up at the hotel the evening before his death, despite being scheduled for recording the following day. "We were deeply shocked," Bommes expressed. "For him, the show was a huge part of his life. He loved being the Jäger, and we loved him too."

On the official Instagram account of "Gefragt – Gejagt," a heartfelt message was posted, reflecting on the loss: "Of course, we are all excited about the start of the new season. However, today is a special day, and we miss the guy. He will always be part of this little family. Greetings up there," the post read.

Thomas Kinne, another Jäger, shared a black-and-white photo of Nagorsnik, simply captioning it, "You are missed." Sebastian Jacoby also remembered his former colleague, writing under a photo of Nagorsnik, "You will be missed, big guy!" He included a quote from the Roman philosopher Seneca: "Do not trust this calm: a moment is enough to stir the sea. On the same day that the ships raced, they were swallowed by the waves."

Fans of "Gefragt – Gejagt" also took to social media to express their sorrow and fond memories of Nagorsnik. One user lamented, "A year has passed, and he is still missed," while another wrote, "It was such a shock back then, and now it’s already been a year. Rest in peace, dear Klaus Otto Nagorsnik."

Another fan shared, "He was one of the best Jägers. He remains unforgettable in our hearts," while a viewer expressed disbelief at the passage of time, stating, "I can hardly believe that it has already been ONE YEAR since K.O. had to leave us. I STILL miss my favorite Jäger!"

In a touching tribute, Sebastian Klussmann, a fellow Jäger, posted on Instagram, "Now it’s been a whole year since you left us, dear K.O.! Unimaginable." He shared a reflection, imagining Nagorsnik in the world’s most beautiful and significant libraries, sharing knowledge with visitors. Klussmann found comfort in this thought and shared several photos of himself in the Library of Alexandria, holding a picture of Nagorsnik on his smartphone.

As the emotional tributes continue to flow, the official "Gefragt – Gejagt" Instagram account reiterated the sentiment of loss, stating, "We are a small family here at 'Gefragt – Gejagt.' Of course, we are all excited about the start of the new season. However, today is a special day, and we miss the guy. He would surely say, 'Now get on with the new episodes!' Greetings up there, K.O."

The new season of "Gefragt – Gejagt" is set to premiere on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 6 p.m. The Jägers—Adriane Rickel, Annegret Schenkel, Dr. Manuel Hobiger, Sebastian Klussmann, Thomas Kinne, and Sebastian Jacoby—will showcase their knowledge in a total of 100 new episodes scheduled until October.
