The official jury of the Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones Carnavalescas (COAC) 2025 has pronounced the much-anticipated results from the grand final held at the Gran Teatro Falla. With a lineup of 133 groups showcasing their talents from the start of the competition on January 23 to the final night on February 28, the event was vibrant, yet marked by controversy.
This year’s COAC featured strong contenders with clear favorites identified early on—namely, Jesús Bienvenido’s comparsa ‘Las ratas’ and Ángel Gago’s cuarteto ‘Ku Klux Klan Klan.’ After nearly nine hours of performances from fourteen groups, the final results were revealed just after 6:43 AM on March 1, 2025.

The competition this year will be remembered not only for its standout performances but also for the voices calling for inclusivity and caution against divisive narratives within the carnival.
Moving forward, celebratory performances will continue throughout the region. The Carnaval de Algeciras is set to take place from March 7 to March 9, promising to display the winning acts and create joyous experiences for locals and visitors alike. This year's carnival will undoubtedly carry the spirit of the COAC 2025, aiming to showcase the vibrant culture of Cádiz and its surrounding areas.
With the charm of the carnival and the illustrious performances celebrated, the future events promise not only fun and laughter but also deep cultural reflections held within the festive atmosphere across the Campo de Gibraltar.
