CNU Candidates Receive Important Updates On Test Results

New schedules and verification processes are implemented for candidates seeking public service positions.

The Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (Inep) has recently announced significant updates for candidates involved with the Concurso Nacional Unificado (CNU), also known as the 'Enem dos concursos'. Starting Friday, December 20th, candidates who requested reviews of their test scores can check the results via the Cesgranrio website, the organizing body of the selection committee. These revised scores may either increase, remain the same, or decrease based on the review process.

Further developments are set for Monday, December 23rd, when the calls for the verification of claims made for reserved positions for black candidates will take place. The final results of the CNU are slated for release on February 11, 2025, which coincides with the announcement of appointments for various positions. Following this, candidates who declared themselves as black must appear before the heteroidentification commission, set for January 11 and 12, 2025. This commission will comprise five members and their substitutes, selected for their diversity across gender, color, and, when possible, regional backgrounds.

According to the process, the evaluation will utilize the candidates' phenotypic characteristics — visible physical traits — to verify their self-declared condition. During this period, their biometric data will be collected alongside handwriting examinations. To maintain integrity, the Fundação Cesgranrio will film this process for record-keeping. Any candidate refusing to participate will be eliminated from the competition. If a candidate's self-declaration is not confirmed, they may compete for general positions only if they have sufficient scores to proceed through subsequent stages.

For indigenous candidates, similar verification will occur through the complementary document verification commission on January 11 and 12. Results from these preliminary assessments will be released on January 17. Originally scheduled for November 21, the release of final CNU results was postponed to accommodate the review of over 32,260 candidates' tests as per the recent judicial ruling, which mandated the correction of tests erroneously eliminated due to misidentification on answer forms.

From January 6 to 10, 2025, medical assessments will be conducted for candidates who identified themselves as having disabilities, based on the medical documentation submitted during their applications. Results from these assessments will also be revealed on January 17, with candidates able to contest these findings on the 17th and 18th of January.

The comprehensive schedule for the CNU includes various key dates such as the release of revision results on December 20 and the preliminary evaluation results due by January 15, 2025. The latest updates keep candidates informed of their standing and drive transparency throughout the selection process for public office across the country.

Linked to this, more than 32,000 individuals will be participating again after being reinstated following legal decisions made on December 20. This reinstatement was to guarantee equal opportunity ratios for scores of candidates applying for positions reserved for black individuals compared with candidates from general pools. Candidates can check their current status on the Cesgranrio site under 'Resultados e Convocações'.

One important facet of this initiative is the detailed protocol for verification, where self-declarations of black candidates will require biometric identification and handwriting tests, all under the watchful eyes of the organizers to avoid discrepancies.

The CNU, often referred to as the 'Enem dos concursos', made history this year with 2.1 million registrants, as it centrally streamlined public servant recruitment across various federal agencies — offering more than 6,600 positions. This significant collective examination exemplifies how Brazil is striving to maintain fairness and equal opportunity across different demographics, governed by newly established regulations.

This year's event saw its classification system set up to award the most qualified candidates based on high scores, taking care to set aside positions for those belonging to reserved affirmative action groups. The candidates' final scores will reflect aggregated performance across multiple choice tests, written evaluations, and overall qualifications as articulated by the specific job titles listed.

With changes enacted to increase representation and proper evaluation of applicants as mandated by law and ethical standards, the CNU continues to draw high interest and participation, reflecting the urgency and gravity of public service roles within Brazil.
