Works from legendary artists such as Zao Wou-Ki, Kazuo Shiraga, Rhee Seundja, and Li Chen will also be featured. A standout piece is Basquiat’s Sabado por la Noche (Saturday Night) from 1984, which captures the essence of African-American culture, jazz, and street art with its vivid colors and energetic style.

The following day, March 29, will showcase the 20th Century Day Sale, which will highlight significant works reflecting the historical exchanges between Eastern and Western art. Featured pieces include Zao Wou-Ki’s La course de chevaux (Horse Racing) from 1952, an abstract masterpiece by Chu Teh-chun, and a sculpture by Claude Lalanne. Additionally, a collection of six paintings by Marc Chagall, originating from the artist’s personal collection, will be available for bidding.

This segment includes significant pieces like Yoshitomo Nara’s Mine Detector from 1993, Yayoi Kusama’s Hat from 1981, and Alex Katz’s Darissa from 2015, alongside works from iconic figures such as Andy Warhol and Christine Ay Tjoe.

Another major highlight of the auction is A Quest for Eternity: The Philippe Damas Collection, featuring artworks from the École des Beaux-Arts de l’Indochine, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
