Visitors can enjoy floral displays, cultural experiences, and special tours as spring unfolds in the park.

Highlighting its charm, Shinjuku Gyoen has various offerings including shops, cafes, and special events that enhance the visitor experience.

As of March 22, 2025, specific cherry blossom species are witnessing their peak bloom across the park. Notably, Ooakanzakura can be found along the Mother and Child Forest's perimeter, while Kanhizakura is making a splash at the lower pond. Meanwhile, Taiwanhizakura is excitedly welcoming visitors at the middle pond, and Himalayahizakura blooms beautifully in the Sakura Garden, east of the formal garden and outside the Okido gate.

As spring rolls on, there’s also a variety of camellias that are in full bloom. For those strollings around, various types of these flowers can be spotted along the outer rim from the Sendagaya gate to Shinjuku gate. Here, the Otometsubaki, known for its rose-like blossoms, catches attention in front of the Former Goryotei.

In addition to the floral displays, visitors can indulge in a multitude of delightful treats from cafes and restaurants within the park. For those wanting a break from walking, a visit to the NATIONALPARKSCAFÉUndertheTree, located at the Shinjuku gate information center, offers a chance to relax and savor a satisfying meal. The café-cum-restaurant recommends a hearty panini with bacon and cheese, perfectly complemented by a warm bowl of soup for a delicious lunch experience.

For dessert enthusiasts, a spring-exclusive 苺パフェ (strawberry parfait) served at the Japanese garden's Rakuyu-tei is a must-try. This special treat features vibrant strawberry ice cream topped with rich, homemade strawberry sauce—perfect for those wanting a taste of spring in every bite. The matcha and vanilla ice cream parfait is also gaining praise, making it a tough choice for visitors enticed by sweet flavors.

Those interested in cultural experiences can take advantage of the kimono rental services available at the Ichie Shoten in the Japanese garden, making it easy for guests to dress in traditional attire while savoring the park's beauty. Notably, hair styling is included at no additional charge, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the culture while enjoying the picturesque surroundings.

Meanwhile, Shinjuku Gyoen is hosting multiple events catered to varying interests. Starting April 9 and 16, 2025, a backyard tour will be available that dives into the garden's ecological extent, starting from the greenhouse at 13:30.
