Charleville-Mézières Theatre Unveils 2025 Productions

Two engaging plays explore themes of biodiversity and gender dynamics, inviting audiences for thoughtful reflection.

The Charleville-Mézières Theatre is set to enchant audiences in 2025 with two distinct productions, each showcasing unique themes and narratives.

The first production, titled Les graines oubliées, will be held on February 1, 2025, at the TCM - Théâtre municipal, beginning at 3:00 PM. This enchanting performance, which costs just €5, tells the tale of Lily, a young heroine who embarks on a quest to save her sick mother. While searching through old books for remedies, Lily discovers pages have been torn out, leading her to confront secrets revealed by a talking toad. This whimsical story emphasizes the importance of respecting biodiversity, delivered by the captivating voice of Ladylike Lily.

Set against the backdrop of the Plein sens! festival, which focuses on family-friendly performances, Les graines oubliées aims to transport audiences to a sensory wonderland, where deep messages about nature resonate.

The second production, entitled Mondial Placard, takes to the stage on January 23, 2025, at 8:00 PM. This satirical piece, priced between €10 and €26, is directed by Côme de Bellescize and explores gender dynamics within the corporate framework. When ambitious Marion is appointed sales director at the furniture company Mondial Placard, the male employees perceive themselves as victims of discrimination. To address these concerns humorously, one of them decides to disguise himself as a woman.

The play invites characters—ranging from the misogynistic deputy director to the feminist intern—to examine their roles collectively and influence the social work dynamic. Mondial Placard has been described as both liberatory and audacious, promising to be both entertaining and thought-provoking.

Both productions are situated at the TCM - Théâtre municipal, located at Place du Théâtre, 08000 Charleville-Mézières. This venue is recognized for its artistic projects aimed at openness, bridging diverse worlds, territories, ages, and emotions.

The theatre invites the community to experience these compelling narratives, which promise to engage audiences and provoke thoughtful reflection on the themes presented.
