Channel 7 Reveals Farmers For New Season Of Farmer Wants A Wife

The reality show returns with four hopeful farmers seeking love amid controversy over reduced cast size.

As the highly anticipated new season of Farmer Wants A Wife prepares to kick off, Channel 7 has unveiled the four leading men vying for love this year. The show returns on Monday, April 21, 2025, with Natalie Gruzlewski stepping back into the role of host after Samantha Armytage's departure.

The excitement surrounding the show is palpable, but fans have expressed surprise over the reduced number of farmers participating this season. Initially, Channel 7 announced eight potential farmers on social media last year. However, this year marks a first in the show's history, featuring only four farmers—down from the six in the first nine seasons and five in recent ones.

"Surely there’s a couple more than just four?" one viewer remarked on social media, while another questioned, "Why only four farmers?" These concerns were amplified by the unexpected absence of 26-year-old cattle farmer and professional bull rider Jack Rowlandson from Oberon, NSW, who was initially cast for the show.

Channel 7 confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that Rowlandson’s scenes will not be aired. "Eureka and Seven have decided not to include Jack Rowlandson’s storyline in the new season of Farmer Wants A Wife. We will not be providing any further comment," they stated. Speculation abounds regarding Rowlandson's removal, with some suggesting he may not have been ready to settle down.

Sophie Trethowan, who found love on last season with Dustin Manwaring, shared her disappointment about Rowlandson's absence. "That was pretty devastating because of how much work goes into filming everything," she told Yahoo Lifestyle. "It’s definitely been a bit of a crazy season, by the sounds of it."

Despite the controversy, the show will still follow four hopeful farmers on their quest for love. The lineup includes:

Farmer Corey: A 24-year-old fourth-generation farmer from Biloela, Queensland. Corey is looking for an open, honest, and family-oriented partner. "I'm not here to find a girlfriend, I'm here to find my future wife, and once I do I’ll be loyal to a fault," he shared.

Farmer Tom: At 31 years old, Tom is a sheep farmer from Borambola, New South Wales. He is also seeking a wife to build a future and family with. "Everyone desires love—they’re lying if they say they don’t," he commented.

Farmer Jarrad: The youngest of the group at 21, Jarrad farms sheep and hemp in Stanthorpe, Queensland. He values traditional principles and seeks a partner who shares his drive. "Having your partner's back is important but also pushing each other to achieve your best," he stated.

Farmer Thomas: Rounding out the cast is 35-year-old Thomas from South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, who describes himself as open and honest. He is eager to marry and start a family. "My ideal partner is someone who shares the same values as me—loyalty, trust, and being family-focused," he explained.

As the farmers prepare to meet their potential partners, the competition is heating up. Each farmer has a unique story and set of values, making the prospect of finding love all the more exciting.

In addition to the four farmers, the show will introduce a diverse group of women competing for their hearts. Each contestant brings her own personality and background, adding layers of intrigue to the unfolding drama.

For Farmer Corey: The contestants include Chelsea, a 26-year-old registered nurse from Victoria; Ellie, an Early Childhood Educator from Queensland; Jadee-Lee, a Primary School Teacher also from Queensland; and Jamie, a 23-year-old Speech Pathologist from Victoria, among others.

Farmer Jarrad's competitors: Ashlee, a 22-year-old education support worker from Victoria; Brianna, a jewellery store manager from Queensland; Chloe, a bartender from Queensland; and Ella, who is passionate about fishing, are just a few of the hopefuls.

For Farmer Thomas: The women vying for his affection include Ashleen, a senior event manager from Western Australia; Claire, who is tired of city boys; and Clarette, a teacher looking for an old-fashioned romance.

Lastly, Farmer Tom's contenders: Eliza, a primary school teacher from Victoria; Bridget, a lawyer who loves animals; and Emma, a registered nurse driven by her goals, are among those hoping to win his heart.

The new season of Farmer Wants A Wife is set to begin at 7:30 PM on Channel 7 and 7plus. Fans are eager to see how the dynamics unfold and whether the farmers will find their perfect matches.

With the unique blend of romance, rural life, and the quest for companionship, this season promises to be one for the books. The anticipation is building, and viewers can’t wait to see who will find love in the heart of the Australian countryside.
