Changan, Dongfeng, And Great Wall Unveil New Models

Chinese car manufacturers announce innovative vehicles equipped with cutting-edge technology and design features.

Chinese automotive brands are rolling out numerous exciting models this February, showcasing impressive designs and innovative technologies expected to arise excitement among car enthusiasts.

On February 21, Changan announced the official reveal of its Qiyuan Q07 model, scheduled for launch on February 27. This new vehicle features the next-generation SDA all-electric architecture, incorporating Changan's New Smart Drive technology along with the Smart New Blue Whale 3.0 powertrain. A standout of the Q07 is its design, led by renowned designer Klaus, with contributions from a diverse team of 915 designers from 31 countries.

The Q07's front continues the latest family design language, equipped with advanced intelligent flying wing headlights, signaling its strong technological capabilities. It adopts the currently popular floating roof design, complemented by hidden door handles. The vehicle's dimensions stand at 4837mm long, 1920mm wide, and 1690mm high, with a wheelbase of 2905mm, positioning it as a mid-size SUV. The rear end is characterized by its distinctive family design tail lights.

Inside, the C798 model boasts designs focused on user comfort, utilizing concepts like 'floating design', 'embracing design', and 'blade-free design'. The interior is fitted with multiple screens including the sunflower screen, 12.8-inch co-driver entertainment screen, and AR-HUD, enhanced by 256-color ambient lighting. Under the hood, the new model employs a hybrid system comprising a 1.5T engine, offering electric-only range up to 215 kilometers and total range exceeding 1400 kilometers.

Meanwhile, Dongfeng has unveiled official images of the Nano 06, expected to launch in the second quarter of this year. This compact SUV features the latest family design language, showcasing a closed front face and fashionable cross-design headlights. The side profile presents another floating roof design complemented by black crossbars and stylish wheel rims. Its dimensions measure 4306mm by 1868mm by 1645mm, with a wheelbase of 2715mm, and promise to deliver contemporary aesthetics.

Powering the Nano 06 is a fully electric drive system, featuring a single motor with maximum power of 135 kW. This new model is based on the Dongfeng Quantum Architecture 3.0 platform and is set to offer advanced driving capabilities through potential collaboration with DJI technology.

Great Wall Motors has also jumped on the release scene by showcasing the second-generation Haval Xiaolong MAX. This latest model adopts fresh exterior design featuring simplified lines and all-wheel-drive capabilities. The front maintains its sleek aesthetic whilst integrating sporty cross-design headlights, which are sure to attract younger buyers.

The Haval Xiaolong MAX is anticipated to feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5-liter engine with electric motor, ensuring efficient performance. All variants will be equipped with Hi4 electric four-wheel drive and high-end intelligent driving assistance features.

On the international front, Exeed's Huang Zhaogen announced via Weibo the upcoming entry of the Star Epoch ET model to the Norwegian and Finnish markets, slated for release between March and April. The Star Epoch ET recently saw its first overseas test model roll off the production line and targets over 20 international markets by 2025.

Its exterior adopts the direct waterfall grille, with modifications to the bumper and branding, turning EXEED badging to EXLANTIX. Inside the cabin, features include an all-digital dashboard and modern multifunction steering wheel, ensuring a contemporary and sophisticated driving experience. The driving system consists of a 1.5T range-extending engine and dual electric motors, offering substantial performance with 240 kilometers of pure electric range and overall reach extending to 1500 kilometers.

Lastly, the Great Wall New Energy announced the launch of its new highland series of MPVs, featuring the Kaishan 7, 8, and 9, which offers comprehensive rewrapping of aesthetics, intelligence, and power dynamics. Notably, each model within the series will integrate laser radar for enhanced safety and the Coffee Pilot Ultra intelligent driving system, ensuring connectivity across various driving scenarios.

The Kaishan series is marked by its premium design, highlighted by the frontal grille inspired by cascading waterfalls, lending it sophistication. The spacious interiors include advanced dual-screen technology, ergonomic seating configurations, and various luxurious interior finishes. All variants will be powered by Great Wall's Hi4 performance hybrid electric drivetrain technology, achieving impressive power outputs and rapid acceleration.
