Every year, the Champs-Élysées avenue hosts a spectacular event on December 31 to ring in the New Year. This year, the celebrations for the transition to 2025 will feature the traditional fireworks display and video mapping on the Arc de Triomphe, alongside numerous artistic performances.
The most beautiful avenue in the world is set to come alive once again as 2024, filled with historic events, makes way for 2025. True to tradition, the Champs-Élysées will be the site of numerous festivities. For this occasion, the avenue will become entirely pedestrian-friendly. The City of Paris has announced musical performances by David Hallyday, Danny Brillant, Chimène Badi, Lio, and the French disco legend Cerrone.
Adding to the excitement, dancers from the renowned Moulin Rouge and Paradis Latin will take to the stage, as will acrobats from the Cirque Phénix and Folies Gruss. Ten minutes before the clock strikes midnight, a multimedia mapping, which utilizes large-scale light and video projections, will grace the Arc de Triomphe, serving as the backdrop for the traditional countdown.
This will be followed by a ten-minute long fireworks show, details of which remain under wraps for now. The anticipation for this year's theme, yet to be announced, adds to the excitement.
On television, France 2 will be broadcasting the 'Great Evening of December 31st from Paris,' hosted by Stéphane Bern. The live show aims to engage the millions of viewers at home and the estimated one million spectators anticipated on the Champs-Élysées. The lineup includes captivating performances from artists such as David Hallyday and Chimène Badi, accompanied by one hundred choristers, as well as the energetic troupe from Totalement 80, Lio, and Dany Brillant.
Throughout the evening, performances will be broadcast from various iconic Parisian locations, featuring acts from Kendji Girac, Jenifer, Michel Fugain, the troupe from Roi-Soleil, Jean-Louis Aubert, Santa, Chico and the Gypsies, Amir, and Eddy de Pretto.
The evening will culminate with a magnificent fireworks display, lasting for ten glorious minutes, illuminating the Arc de Triomphe and the night sky of Paris, heralding the New Year with grandeur and festivity.
