The 11th edition promises thrilling matches with film stars showcasing their cricketing skills across India.

The 11th edition of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) 2025 is all set to bring an electrifying blend of sports and entertainment as film stars from across India’s regional industries gear up for an intense battle on the cricket field. A spectacular fusion of cricket and cinema featuring eight star-studded teams, the tournament bridges the passion for cricket with the glamour of Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood, and other film fraternities. This highly anticipated season will kick off on February 8 and conclude on March 2, promising a thrilling month of celebrity-driven cricketing action.

The opening match will witness defending champions Bengal Tigers take on Chennai Rhinos, followed by last season’s runners-up, Karnataka Bulldozers, clashing against Telugu Warriors on the same day. The CCL 2025 will feature a round-robin format followed by knockout rounds, ensuring competitive matches. A total of 17 matches will be played across four legs, with the action taking place in major cities including Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Cuttack, and Surat. The venue for the grand finale is yet to be decided, adding to the suspense of the tournament’s climax.

Every team will aim to complete four league-stage matches, trying their best to secure one of the top four spots to enter the semi-finals. The defending champions, Bengal Tigers, are determined to keep their title, but fierce competition is expected from the Telugu Warriors, the most decorated team with four championship titles. Other formidable teams include the Bulldozers and the Rhinos, who have both claimed the title twice, alongside Mumbai Heroes, who have won once.

With Bollywood megastar Salman Khan bringing his star power as the face of the tournament, the CCL continues to captivate audiences across the country. The league has transformed to become not just about scoring runs and taking wickets, but also about the unique spectacle of actors showcasing their cricketing skills. Fans can expect breathtaking sixes, nail-biting finishes, and dramatic celebrations this year.

For the 2025 edition, the team rosters are star-studded, featuring some of the industry’s biggest names. The Bengal Tigers are captained by Jisshu Sengupta and include players like Jammy Banerjee, who was instrumental last year by topping the scoreboard. The Punjab De Sher team will be captained by Sonu Sood, featuring notable talents like Mika Singh and Jimmy Shergill. The Karnataka Bulldozers are under the captaincy of Sudeep, who is well-known for his on-field strategies.

Other teams include the Chennai Rhinos, led by Arya Ashok Selvan, the Telugu Warriors with Akhil Akkineni at the helm, and the Mumbai Heroes, spearheaded by Ritesh Deshmukh. The Bhojpuri Dabanggs, led by Manoj Tiwari, complete the roster, bringing together diverse film industries under the CCL umbrella.

Matches will be live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, enabling fans across the globe to catch the on-field action. The tournament is also broadcast on Sony Sports 3, providing extensive coverage across both digital and traditional platforms, aimed at reaching cricket and cinema fans alike.

Starting on February 8 and running until March 2, the CCL 2025 is expected to deliver unforgettable moments, combining the best of both cricketing contests and showbiz glamour.
