Across different regions, the recognition of active citizens has taken center stage, illuminating their invaluable contributions to society. Recent events held in Tiraspol (Transnistria), Ualikhanoe District (North Kazakhstan), and Moscow (Russia) on February 28, 2025, celebrated the hard work and dedication of individuals committed to their communities.
Starting with Tiraspol, the Shevchenko State University hosted a round table discussion titled "The Participation of Transnistrian Youth in State Politics: Problems and Prospects." This event brought together government representatives, members of the Youth Parliament, civic organizations, students, and schoolchildren to explore the political involvement of the youth. Tatiana Zalevskaya, the head of the Department of State and Municipal Management and chairwoman of the Slobozia District Council of People’s Deputies, expressed the essence of the gathering by stating, "The round table is held annually to discuss the problems and prospects of the development of Transnistrian statehood. Our youth, our future generation, our students, they are agents of political socialization, whose mission is to adequately educate the future generation."
The attendees emphasized the shifting role of young people from mere observers to active participants within political processes. Galina Antyufeeva, the Deputy Chairwoman of the Supreme Council, noted the potential of today's students, saying, "This is the future of our state. The youth should learn from those who have been long established in politics. Perhaps, among today’s students, there are future deputies, ministers, and even presidents." This recognition of youth engagement aligns with efforts to stimulate their involvement in shaping political agendas, creating fertile ground for future leadership.
Moving to the Ualikhanoe District of North Kazakhstan, celebrations marked the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and the Day of Gratitude. The district's administration honored its most active residents at the event titled "Community Agreement Place." Residents received letters of thanks from the local akim (governor), highlighting their contributions to both social projects and community welfare. Kulyash Egimbaeva, chairperson of the district Mother’s Council, stood out among the honorees who received accolades for her leadership role. "Today the Council of Mothers plays an important role in society... We note the significance of the Council of Mothers and its influence on raising generations and do not forget what maternal love is the main thing in the upbringing of generations," Egimbaeva said, underlining the impactful role mothers play.
The event featured art exhibitions showcasing traditional crafts and paintings, alongside cultural performances. It offered not only recognition but also served to strengthen community bonds through shared experiences and the celebration of local culture. The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan has been pivotal since its creation on March 1, 1995, to build national unity, and the Day of Gratitude encourages mutual respect and appreciation for one another's efforts.
Meanwhile, the Moscow Cathedral Mosque held its own significant ceremony where active participants providing rear support to service members were honored. The ceremony recognized the efforts of individuals contributing to humanitarian aid for military personnel engaged overseas. Under the command of Colonel of Medical Service R.M. Murtazaliev, medals for civil courage were awarded for exemplary performance of civil duty and provision of comprehensive humanitarian assistance. Among the notable recipients were Jafar Fayzrahmanov, director of the mosque's madrasah, and Murtazaliev himself who highlighted the importance of community support: "For exemplary performance of civil duty, showing the highest form of patriotism... providing comprehensive humanitarian assistance of both general and medical nature."
Moscow's event underscored the collective commitment to supporting the nation's servicemen, with various community leaders and volunteers recognized for their significant contributions. These honorees included philanthropists and active congregants contributing to the communal welfare, reinforcing their commitment to humanitarian causes.
Together, the events celebrated the active involvement of citizens across regions, emphasizing how recognition fosters community engagement and continues to inspire future generations. The shared goal of these celebrations highlights the emphasis on collaboration within communities to engage youth and honor those making impactful contributions. Such initiatives are not only beneficial to the individuals involved but also reinforce the fabric of society, nurturing bonds among its members.
