The awards ceremony for the 'MR OF MR CAMPUS CONTEST 2025' and 'MISS OF MISS CAMPUS QUEEN CONTEST 2025' took place on March 24, 2025, in Tokyo.
Hosted by model Kinko Yamaga and comedian Yosuke Inoue from the group NON STYLE, the events celebrated Japan's top campuses' male and female representatives.
The title of 'MISS OF MISS CAMPUS QUEEN CONTEST 2025' was awarded to Misako Hashimoto, a 21-year-old third-year student at Seikei University. During her acceptance speech, Hashimoto expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am filled with gratitude to everyone who supported me. It was because of your support that I could do my best until the end.” She also mentioned her ambitions, noting, “While I have an interest in entertainment activities, it's also job hunting season, so I want to pursue both and have many experiences.”
Meanwhile, Yugo Ota, a 22-year-old fourth-year student from Keio University’s Faculty of Policy Management, took home the title for 'MR OF MR CAMPUS CONTEST 2025.' Ota shared his determination regarding the competition, affirming, “This is my last chance as a fourth-year student in the Mister contest. I wanted to take it seriously, so I even decided to take a leave of absence to fully dedicate myself, and I’m thrilled to have won.”
Both winners received enthusiastic support from the audience, which Yamaga acknowledged, saying, “The cheers from the fans were amazing. Being a beloved character is very important.” Reflecting on her own experiences as a past winner from the 2016 competition, Yamaga noted, “The distance and depth of connection with fans have changed. It’s impressive how much joy fans find in supporting their favorites.”
Not only did the ceremony highlight the winners, but it also served as a platform for discussing the evolution of beauty contests over the years. Yamaga, who won the Grand Prix at the 2016 event, reminisced, “It’s been about ten years since I received my award. A lot can happen within that time.” She emphasized to the contestants, “I hope you all continue to be yourselves.”
As Ota articulated his goals for the future, he stated, “I want to become a one-of-a-kind model.” Encouraged by Yamaga, who replied, “Having confidence is a wonderful thing. I hope you continue to work hard, just like you are now!” She concluded her support for both winners with an empowering message: “You both hold infinite possibilities for your futures. Challenge yourselves courageously and create marvelous lives!”
The 'MISS OF MISS CAMPUS QUEEN CONTEST' marks its 22nd year, aiming to crown Japan's foremost campus queen among national contestants, while the 'MR OF MR CAMPUS CONTEST 2025' reaches its 11th year, identifying Japan's ultimate campus prince.
Hashimoto already has some experience in the entertainment field, having participated in music videos. With both the spirit of ambition and gratitude, she looks forward to balancing her potential career in acting alongside her academic pursuits, saying, “I want to try my hand at acting work.”
This year’s competitions highlighted not only the hard work and talents of the contestants, but also the significance of support systems among friends, family, and fans that propel individuals toward achieving their aspirations.
As participants continue to navigate both professional and personal development, contests like 'MISS AND MR OF MR CAMPUS' not only foster beauty and talent but also encourage community and collegiate spirit throughout Japan.
