TBS will broadcast its much-anticipated music program, 'CDTV Live! Live! Year-End Special Music Program 2024→2025', starting on December 31 at 23:45 and running until 5:00 am on January 1, 2025. The event will feature 71 artists, showcasing hit songs from 2024 alongside notable acts poised to make waves in 2025.
This year’s special will once again be co-hosted by popular duo EXIT, following their performance as sub-MCs during the previous year's event. The program promises to deliver vibrant live sets, packed with several unique segments and special collaborations, making it one of the highlights of the New Year celebrations.
Among the many featured acts, Da-iCE stands out for their performance of the Christmas season hit, 'I wonder'. Known for hitting high notes and captivating audiences with their dynamic presence, Da-iCE will present this popular number arranged specially for the occasion. Set against the backdrop of the dazzling Christmas stage at Akasaka Sacas, they will bring their energetic performance to life with glittering decorations enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Da-iCE's 'I wonder', which was released earlier this year and already garnered over 1.8 million streams, perfectly captures themes of love and self-discovery, expressed through vibrant color motifs—from black and white to vivid hues. During their performance at the show, Da-iCE's members, particularly vocalists Yudai Ohno and Sota Hanamura, will showcase not just their vocal prowess but also engage humorously with the audience, such as when Yudai appeared dressed as a Christmas tree.
Other notable artists scheduled to perform include INI, AKB48, and Mrs. GREEN APPLE, among many more, comprising genres from pop to hip-hop and rock. The full lineup reflects the dynamic music scene of Japan, featuring both legendary figures and promising new talent. Individual song performances and the official schedule will be announced on December 30, allowing fans to prepare for what promises to be an unforgettable night.
One of the key aspects of 'CDTV Live! Live!' is its concept of 'live broadcasts from artists' own stages,' ensuring intimate and personal presentations of each performance. This program format initially launched back in March 2020 has continuously received acclaim for celebrating artists' creativity and engaging live music.
Beyond 'I wonder', Da-iCE is anticipating another major milestone with their first appearance at the prestigious Kōhaku Uta Gassen at year’s end, as they celebrate their 10th anniversary as artists. Following this event, they will continue to engage fans with new singles and performances, securing their place within the Japanese music industry.
For Da-iCE, the steps taken this year, especially with the digital single ‘Orange Youth’ released on November 11 and their upcoming yet-untitled CD single set for January 15, show their commitment to growth and evolution as artists. They are poised not just to end the year with impactful performances but will utilize the momentum to cultivate even more opportunities as they enter their eleventh year.
With EXIT’s lively presentation, creative artist performances enlisted from across Japan's music scene, and the unique atmosphere infused by the new year celebrations, 'CDTV Live! Live! Year-End Special Music Program 2024→2025' is set to resonate well beyond the screen, marking yet another stellar conclusion to the year.
