CBUAE Celebrates 50 Years With Commemorative Silver Coins

A special edition silver coin honors the bank's legacy and embraces modern purchasing solutions for collectors.

The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) has recently unveiled a special edition silver coin to commemorate its Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years of significant contributions to the nation's banking and financial sectors. The initiative coincides with the leadership's vision to position the CBUAE among the world's top central banks.

A total of 3,000 silver coins have been minted, each weighing 60 grams. The obverse of the coin beautifully displays the image of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, inscribed with his name in Arabic alongside the phrase "President of the United Arab Emirates." On the reverse side, the coin showcases the CBUAE building, framed with the inscription "50 Years of the Central Bank of the UAE" and the years 1973-2023, along with the nominal value of 50 Dirhams.

The launch of this commemorative silver coin is part of CBUAE's efforts to celebrate its pivotal role in driving economic development. This aligns with the vision of wise leadership and celebrates the bank's achievements over five decades.

To facilitate access to these coins, the CBUAE has introduced an online service allowing citizens and collectors to purchase them directly through the bank's website. The process is made smooth and secure with instant login via the UAE Pass. Each coin is priced at AED 650, which includes delivery fees.

Beginning January 22, the service will also provide access to other commemorative coins issued by CBUAE over the years. This new online platform showcases the bank's commitment to adopting international best practices and providing high-standard financial services.

The introduction of this digital service not only highlights the CBUAE's dedication to enhancing user experience but also its effort to reduce time, effort, and resources for consumers accessing banking services. This seamless approach is expected to alleviate unnecessary burdens on individuals both within and outside the UAE.

Through these commemorative coins, the CBUAE aims to engage the public and celebrate its historical significance as it continues to strive for excellence in providing banking services globally. This launch is not just seen as the issuance of coins but as part of the CBUAE's broader narrative of growth and improvement within the financial sector.

Marking its achievement with such memorabilia highlights how the CBUAE aligns itself with visionary leadership goals and its aspirations to excel among leading central banks worldwide.
