CBSE Set To Announce Class 10 And 12 Results Soon

Over 42 lakh students await results as misinformation circulates online

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is gearing up to announce the results for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, which saw participation from over 42 lakh students this year. With the exams conducted from February 15 to April 4, 2025, students are eager to receive their marks, particularly as the expected announcement date draws near.

As of now, the exact date for the result declaration remains unconfirmed, but past trends suggest that the CBSE results are likely to be released in the second week of May 2025. Last year, results for both classes were announced on May 13, and students are hopeful for a similar timeline this year.

Students can check their results online through several official platforms, including cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and the DigiLocker app. To access their scores, students will need to enter their roll number, school number, admit card ID, date of birth, and a security pin.

In a recent statement, CBSE has also addressed misinformation circulating on social media regarding the results. A fake letter dated May 2, 2025, falsely claimed that the Class 10 results would be declared on May 6 at 11 AM. The board clarified that this letter is fake, urging students and parents to rely solely on official communications for updates. “We urge students, parents, and stakeholders to avoid sharing unverified news and to rely only on official sources for updates,” CBSE stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

This year, the board exams were held at 7,842 centres across India and in 26 countries overseas. The Class 10 examinations concluded on March 18, while Class 12 exams wrapped up on April 4.

For the academic year 2024-25, approximately 24.12 lakh students registered for Class 10, while nearly 17.88 lakh were enrolled in Class 12. The board has noted that students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject to pass. In the previous year, the overall pass percentage for Class 12 stood at 87.98%, while Class 10 achieved a pass rate of 93.60%, marking a slight improvement from the previous year.

In addition to the results, CBSE has revised its post-result process. Starting this year, students will have access to photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets before submitting requests for verification or re-evaluation. This change aims to empower students to make informed decisions regarding their results. “A candidate who receives the photocopy of their evaluated answer book can decide whether to apply for Verification of Marks or Re-evaluation,” the board noted.

Students can also access their results through the UMANG app, which allows for a convenient check of their scores. To do this, students need to create an account and log in with their registered mobile number. The app provides an easy interface for viewing results, ensuring that students can access their scores without hassle.

For those who do not meet the passing criteria, CBSE will conduct supplementary exams. Students who fail to secure the minimum passing marks in one or more subjects will be given the opportunity to appear for these exams, which are typically held in July.

As the announcement date approaches, students are advised to stay vigilant and avoid falling for any unverified claims about the results. The board has reiterated the importance of checking only official sources for the most accurate and timely information.

In summary, the anticipation surrounding the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 results is palpable as students await the official announcement. With over 42 lakh students eager to check their scores, the CBSE is expected to provide clarity on the result date soon. Students should prepare to access their results through the official CBSE websites or the DigiLocker app once the results are released.
