NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the admit cards for the Class 10 board examinations scheduled to commence on February 15, 2025. This announcement is significant for the millions of students preparing for their annual exams, as the admit card serves as a mandatory document for entry to the examination hall.
According to CBSE, the admit cards for Class 10 were made accessible as of February 3, 2025. The board has emphasized the importance of the admit card, stating, "Students must carry their admit card to take the exam because it has important details like your name, roll number, exam centre, and exam schedule." These details are imperative, as any discrepancies could prevent students from sitting for their examinations.
The Class 10 exams will be held from February 15 to March 18, 2025, with the practical examinations previously taking place from January 1 to February 14. The exams will occur in two shifts, ensuring students stay organized and prepared.
To download the admit cards, regular students are required to collect them from their respective schools, as they can only be accessed through the school's login credentials on the CBSE Pariksha Sangam portal. Private candidates can directly access their admit cards from the board's official website, cbse.gov.in. A straightforward process has been outlined by CBSE for downloading these admit cards, which includes visiting the official site, selecting the necessary sections, and entering required credentials.
For students wishing to download the admit cards themselves, the steps are as follows: 1) Visit the official CBSE website, 2) Click on the ‘Continue’ button, 3) Select the relevant section for private candidates, 4) Enter the application number or other required details, and 5) Download the admit card which will then be displayed on the screen.
Every student should carefully verify the information on their admit card upon receiving it. Details such as the student’s name, roll number, exam center code, and subjects must be checked for accuracy. CBSE has advised, "If you find any discrepancies, inform the board immediately." This vigilance is necessary as having incorrect information on the admit card could lead to complications on exam day.
The admit card also includes guidelines for examination day, which students must adhere to rigorously. Since this document verifies the identity of students, it must be preserved diligently.
Among the details included on the CBSE Class 10 Admit Card are the student’s name, father’s and mother’s names, roll number both numerically and phonetically, registration number, school details, examination centre name, subject codes, and important instructions for the exam.
Another important aspect of the admit card procedure relates to the official CBSE Roll Number Finder tool, which assists students who may have forgotten their roll number. They can retrieve this by entering their personal details including their name, father’s name, and date of birth.
It’s noteworthy to mention, students must be aware of the items they can and cannot bring to examination centers. For example, students are allowed to bring their admit card, school ID, and certain stationery items. At the same time, items like mobile phones or any electronics are strictly prohibited.
All students are encouraged to stay updated with the latest announcements from the official CBSE website, especially as the examination dates approach. Thorough preparation combined with awareness of the administrative processes surrounding board examinations will contribute significantly to their success.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has emphasized the significance of this year's examinations, with around 44 lakh students registered to take the boards across various subjects. With the exams just around the corner, the focus now shifts to preparation and ensuring all necessary documents are correctly managed.
Students can refer to the official CBSE site for additional resources including previous year question papers and sample questions to aid their studies and maximize their chances for success as they navigate through this pivotal academic challenge.
