CBSE Class 10 And 12 Results Expected Soon

Over 42 lakh students await results as CBSE prepares for release next week

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is gearing up to announce the results for the Class 10 and 12 board exams, with over 42 lakh students eagerly awaiting their scores. The results are expected to be released in the second week of May 2025, likely on the same day for both classes. This year, the exams were conducted between February 15 and April 4, 2025, with 24.12 lakh students appearing for Class 10 and 17.88 lakh students for Class 12.

Students can check their results on various platforms, including the official CBSE websites—cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in. Additionally, results will be accessible via the DigiLocker app, the UMANG app, and a special Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). To check results via SMS, Class 10 students need to send an SMS in the format: "cbse10 " to 7738299899, while Class 12 students use "cbse12" in place of "cbse10".

Last year, the pass percentage for Class 10 was 93.60%, while Class 12 had a pass rate of 87.98%. To pass, students must secure at least 33% in each subject, although grace marks may be awarded in borderline cases. The anticipated pass percentage for this year is expected to be similar or slightly improved, with predictions of over 93% for Class 10 and between 87% and 88% for Class 12.

In addition to the results, CBSE will open a window for students who wish to apply for re-evaluation or verification of their marks shortly after the announcement. Students dissatisfied with their results can utilize this service to ensure their scores reflect their performance accurately.

For those needing guidance, CBSE has set up a tele-counseling helpline available at 1800-11-8004, which students can call from anywhere in India for support regarding their results.

The board exams took place at approximately 7,842 centers across India and internationally, reflecting the vast scale of participation in the CBSE system. The CBSE has also reported that girls have historically outperformed boys in the board exams, a trend that is expected to continue this year.

Students are advised to keep their roll numbers, school numbers, and other necessary credentials ready for when the results are released. The results will include detailed information such as the candidate's name, roll number, subject-wise marks, grades, and overall qualifying status.

In preparation for future examinations, CBSE plans to introduce dual board exams starting in 2026, allowing students to attempt the Class 10 exams twice a year, with the better score being considered for their final results. This initiative aims to alleviate exam stress and provide more flexibility for students.

As the announcement date approaches, students and parents are encouraged to stay updated through official CBSE channels to avoid falling for any rumors about the result release. The board has emphasized the importance of relying on verified information from its official websites and social media accounts.

In summary, the CBSE Class 10 and 12 results are set to be released soon, with various methods available for students to check their scores. With the anticipation building, students are reminded to prepare for their next steps, whether it be further studies or re-evaluation of their scores.
