CBSE Class 10 And 12 Results Expected Soon

Students await results in May as over 44 lakh take exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is gearing up to announce the much-anticipated Class 10 and Class 12 exam results for 2025. Based on historical trends, the results are expected to be released in the second week of May, with speculations pointing towards May 2 or May 12 as potential dates. However, the board has yet to officially confirm any specific date.

The CBSE conducted the board examinations for both classes from February 15 to March 18, 2025, with over 44 lakh students participating across various subjects. This year, the exams were held at approximately 7,780 centers, reflecting a significant turnout. Students will be able to access their results through official websites, including cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbseresults.nic.in, using their roll number, school number, and date of birth.

In 2024, the results for Class 10 were declared on May 13, with a pass percentage of 93.60%, while Class 12 results were also announced on the same day, achieving a pass rate of 87.98%. The previous year, in 2023, Class 10 results were released on May 12, with a similar pass rate of 93.12%. This consistent timing of results suggests a streamlined evaluation process that has been increasingly digitized to ensure timely announcements.

Students are advised to keep their admit cards handy for quick access to their results once they are announced. Alongside the results, CBSE will also release topper lists and overall pass percentage statistics. In 2023, the pass percentage for girls in Class 10 was recorded at 94.25%, while boys achieved a pass rate of 92.27%. For Class 12, girls again outperformed boys with a 6.40% lead.

For those who may not pass in one or two subjects, CBSE will conduct compartment exams in July or August 2025. To qualify for the board exams, students must achieve at least 33% in each subject and in aggregate. Students who are dissatisfied with their results will have the option to apply for revaluation shortly after the results are published.

As the results day approaches, students should stay alert for announcements from CBSE on their official social media channels and websites. With over 44 lakh students awaiting their outcomes, timely access and preparedness are crucial for academic planning and next steps.
