Over 42 lakh students who appeared for these exams are anxiously waiting for their marksheets, which will be available online through official portals.
The CBSE examinations commenced on February 15, 2025, with the Class 10 exams concluding on March 18, and the Class 12 exams wrapping up on April 4. This year, a total of 24.12 lakh students sat for the Class 10 board exams, while 17.88 lakh students participated in the Class 12 examinations, reflecting the scale of this nationwide academic exercise.
While the CBSE has not officially confirmed the exact date for the results, historical trends suggest that the results will likely be announced between May 7 and May 12, 2025. Last year, the results were declared on May 13, and in 2023, they were announced on May 12.
To check their results, students will need to visit the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in or results.cbse.nic.in. They must enter their roll number, school number, admit card ID, date of birth, and a security pin to access their marksheets.
Additionally, students can download their digital marksheets through the DigiLocker app or website, which offers a convenient alternative for accessing results. The DigiLocker service allows students to view and download their marksheets by entering their credentials and the six-digit access code provided by their schools.
For those who prefer offline methods, results can also be checked via SMS and the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). To receive results via SMS, students should send a message in the format specified by the CBSE to the designated number. The IVRS can be accessed by dialing 24300699, where students will receive their subject-wise marks through an automated voice message.
In terms of performance expectations, the CBSE Class 10 result is anticipated to reflect a pass percentage above 93%, following a trend of student-friendly papers. The Class 12 pass percentage is expected to hover between 87% and 88%, based on previous years' performance and the perceived difficulty of this year's exams.
Over the past five years, the pass percentages for Class 12 have fluctuated, with last year's rate recorded at 87.98%. The board has made a significant decision this year by not publishing a merit list to reduce unhealthy competition among students, a move that has been well-received by many.

In case of heavy website traffic, students are encouraged to try again after some time or use DigiLocker for faster access.
After the results are declared, students dissatisfied with their marks can apply for re-evaluation or scrutiny of their answer sheets. The application window for this process will open shortly after the results are announced, with fees ranging between Rs 100 and Rs 700. Furthermore, compartment exams for those failing in one or two subjects are tentatively scheduled for July 15–22, with results likely in August.
The CBSE has also introduced a new grievance redressal process aimed at promoting greater transparency. Students must first request photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets before applying for verification or re-evaluation of marks.
For students who lose their marksheets, a duplicate can be requested through the CBSE website, which provides all necessary details, including required forms and applicable fees. The original marksheets will be distributed by respective schools a few weeks after the results are announced, and these will be required for college admissions and other official purposes.
