NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to announce the results for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2025, with expectations of the declaration occurring later this week. This year, more than 42 lakh students participated in the exams, which took place from February 15 to April 4, 2025. The Class 10 exams concluded on March 18, while the Class 12 examinations wrapped up on April 4.
Students eagerly awaiting their results can check them on the official websites, cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in. Additionally, provisional mark sheets will be accessible through the DigiLocker app, which facilitates easy access to digital copies of important documents.
Although the CBSE has not yet confirmed the exact date for the results, it is anticipated that they will be released in the second week of May 2025. Historical data suggests a mid-May announcement, as results were declared on May 13 in 2024 and May 12 in 2023. In contrast, the pandemic delayed results in previous years, pushing them into July.
To check their results, students can use their roll numbers and other credentials. The process involves visiting the official websites, clicking on the relevant result link, and entering the necessary details such as roll number, school number, and date of birth. Once submitted, results will appear on the screen, and students can download their mark sheets for future reference.
For those who may face issues accessing the website, results will also be available through multiple platforms, including SMS, DigiLocker, the UMANG app, and via call/IVRS. To receive results via SMS, students can send a message in the format: cbse12 (roll number) (school number) (center number) to the number 7738299899.
The grading criteria for Class 10 students will follow a specific pattern as well. Students will be awarded grades based on their performance, with A-1 awarded to the top 1/8th of the passed candidates, and subsequent grades allocated to the next segments of candidates based on their scores. To pass, students must achieve at least 33% in each subject and overall.
In response to concerns about the integrity of the examination process, the CBSE has implemented strict measures, including the prohibition of mobile phones and AI tools like ChatGPT in exam halls. Additionally, CCTV surveillance has been introduced to enhance security during the examinations.
Despite rumors circulating on social media regarding potential leaks of examination papers, the CBSE has firmly refuted these claims, urging students and parents to remain vigilant against misinformation. Notably, EdTech entrepreneur Alakh Pandey, founder of PhysicsWallah, had made assertions about the inclusion of his questions in the exams, which have since been dismissed by the board.
As the results approach, students are advised to verify their details on the mark sheets once released, including their name, subject-wise marks, total score, and pass status. Any discrepancies should be reported to the respective schools immediately for correction.
For students who do not achieve passing marks in one or two subjects, the CBSE offers supplementary exams. Those failing in more than two subjects will need to repeat the year. This year, approximately 24.12 lakh students participated in the Class 10 examinations, with exams conducted at 7,780 centers across India. The scale of the CBSE board exams underscores their significance in shaping the academic futures of millions of students.
The anticipation surrounding the CBSE 10th and 12th results is palpable, with students and parents alike keenly awaiting the outcomes of months of hard work and preparation. As the CBSE finalizes the results, it is clear that the board remains committed to ensuring a fair and transparent evaluation process.
With the announcement of the results expected imminently, students are encouraged to stay updated through official channels and prepare for the next steps in their academic journeys, whether that includes applying for higher education, vocational training, or entering the workforce.
