CBSE Board Results 2025 Expected This Week

Over 42 lakh students await results as CBSE prepares for release between May 11 and 13.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is gearing up to release the much-anticipated results for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, expected between May 11 and May 13, 2025. With over 42 lakh students having taken the exams this year, the results will mark a significant moment in the academic calendar for many.

This year, the Class 10 exams concluded on March 18, while the Class 12 exams wrapped up on April 4. Students will be able to access their provisional mark sheets through the official CBSE websites: cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbseresults.nic.in. In addition, results can also be checked via the DigiLocker app and the UMANG app, providing multiple avenues for students to view their scores.

To check their results, students will need to input their roll number, school number, admit card ID, date of birth, and a security pin. Given the high volume of traffic expected on the official websites, CBSE has advised students to utilize alternative methods such as SMS and IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) to avoid delays. In case the website crashes, students can send an SMS with their respective codes or call the designated IVRS number to receive their results.

In 2024, the overall pass percentage for Class 10 was 93.60%, while Class 12 saw a pass rate of 87.98%. These figures reflect a slight increase from previous years, indicating a positive trend in student performance. The pass percentages for Class 12 in the last four years are as follows: 2024 - 87.98%, 2023 - 87.33%, 2022 - 92.71%, and 2021 - 99.37%. The results for this year are projected to continue this upward trend, with expectations of around 87-88% for Class 12 and over 93% for Class 10.

As the results approach, students are advised to prepare for the possibility of re-evaluation or verification of their marks if they are dissatisfied with their scores. CBSE has set a nominal fee of Rs 500 per subject for mark verification. This process will be available shortly after the results are announced, allowing students to request photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets.

The CBSE Board has also emphasized the importance of collecting original mark sheets from schools after the online results are declared, as the online results are provisional. Additionally, the board will release statistics, including overall and gender-wise pass percentages, following the results announcement.

This year, the CBSE exams were conducted at 7,842 centres across India and in 26 countries, reflecting the board's extensive reach and the increasing number of students participating in the examinations. A total of 17.88 lakh students registered for the Class 12 exams, while 24.12 lakh students registered for Class 10.

Students can also expect the announcement of topper lists for Science, Commerce, and Arts streams after the results are declared. However, in line with the board's policy to promote healthy competition, CBSE will not release an official topper list or assign second and third divisions, which aims to reduce pressure on students.

For those looking to check their results via the UMANG app, the process is straightforward. Students need to download the app, create a new account, and log in with their registered mobile number. They can then locate the link for the CBSE Class 10/12 results and enter their roll number to view their scores.

In case of any issues accessing the online platforms, students can also check their results through SMS by sending a specific format to the designated number provided by CBSE. For Class 12, the format is: "CBSE12 Roll Number School Number Centre Number," and for Class 10, it is "CBSE10 Roll Number School Number Centre Number." This service aims to provide quick access to results, especially during peak traffic times.

As the countdown to the results begins, students are reminded to keep their roll numbers and other credentials handy to facilitate a smooth checking process. The anticipation surrounding the results is palpable, with many students eager to see how their efforts have translated into scores.

In addition to the results, CBSE has also announced that the supplementary (compartment) examinations for 2025 will follow the same syllabus as the main board examinations, ensuring that students are adequately prepared for any retakes they may need to undertake.

Overall, the CBSE Board Results for 2025 are set to be a significant event for millions of students. With the introduction of digital platforms like DigiLocker and the UMANG app, the process of accessing results has become more streamlined, ensuring that students can receive their scores promptly and conveniently. As the dates draw nearer, the excitement and anxiety among students continue to build.

As the Central Board of Secondary Education prepares to unveil the results, students and parents alike are hopeful for positive outcomes. With a strong focus on academic performance and support systems in place, many are optimistic that this year will yield better results than ever before.
