Carpe Diem Dominates Prime-Time Viewership On TF1

The series finale captivates millions, solidifying its success in French television.

The final episode of the French series Carpe Diem garnered a lot of attention on March 24, 2025, showcasing its success on TF1, where it dominated the prime-time audience. Starring Samuel Le Bihan, the show attracted an average of 4.45 million viewers during its airing from 21:15 to 23:11, translating to a significant 27.2% share of the overall viewership, as per Médiamétrie reports.

Specifically, the fifth episode alone pulled in 4.68 million viewers, reflecting 25.4% of the audience, while the concluding episode reached 4.22 million, representing 28.9% of the total public, including 20.8% of women responsible for household purchasing decisions aged under 50 (FRDA-50).

This season finale marked a slight decrease from the prior week, when episodes three and four averaged 4.48 million viewers, hitting a 27.9% share overall and 21.7% among women in the target demographic.

In the second place was the dating reality show Mariés au premier regard, which managed to attract 2.08 million viewers during its first segment, accounting for 11.2% of the total audience and 24.6% of the FRDA-50 group. This show continues to hold a strong appeal for its audience, engaging 1.78 million viewers from 22:12 to 23:22.

The previous week, Mariés au premier regard had slightly higher numbers, with 2.14 million viewers (11.3% share) for its P1 segment, and 1.77 million viewers in P2.

France 2, on the other hand, witnessed a rise in viewership with the series Après la nuit, which fetched 1.49 million viewers for its final two episodes, representing 8.6% of the audience share and 2.6% of FRDA-50. The series, which was previously catering to only 1.20 million viewers last week (7.1% share), demonstrated an impressive improvement.

Looking closely at episode performance, Après la nuit episode five brought in 1.53 million viewers, while the last episode garnered 1.45 million.

Meanwhile, the political thriller Les promesses, which had never been broadcast on free-to-air until now, attracted 1.17 million viewers, translating to 6.6% of the overall audience and 1.4% of FRDA-50. The film had made its entrance into cinemas back in January 2022, with an original turnout of about 325,000 spectators.

In a less competitive space, W9 scored a viewership of 989,000 for the action film Homefront between 21:15 and 23:00, achieving 5.9% of total share and 5.3% of FRDA-50. TMC’s classic revival of Armageddon saw 828,000 viewers, representing 6.3% of the overall audience from 21:30 until midnight.
