Cara Delevingne Dares To Bare At Ocean Premiere

The model stuns in a vintage sheer gown at the London event

Cara Delevingne isn’t afraid to take a fashion risk. She proved this to be true last night, baring it all in a completely see-through vintage gown on the red carpet for the world premiere of “Ocean With David Attenborough” in London. The British model, 32, left little to the imagination, showing off her black lacy thong underneath the plunging mesh number, which happens to be made of fabric that’s around 100 years old.

The mesh dress is from the 1920s and costs over $10K. Made in Cairo in the 1920s, the rare dress was created using tulle-bi-telli, a “hand-woven textile that originated in Upper Egypt during the 19th Century,” per Annie’s Ibiza, who sells the look for a whopping $10,040. The striped neckline, meanwhile, was crafted from real silver.

Delevingne covered up a bit, skipping a bra but layering a slouchy black boxy blazer over the fully sheer dress. The model added more intrigue to the red carpet look with a black eagle pendant necklace and black peep-toe platform heels. She was joined by her older sister, Poppy Delevingne, who is expecting her first child with her partner, Archie Keswick.

The sisters’ animal-themed jewelry was perhaps a nod to the forthcoming National Geographic documentary. “Ocean With David Attenborough,” which hits theaters on May 8, “shines a light on both the beauty of the sea and the ways in which humans are depleting its riches,” according to National Geographic.

Other celebrity guests last night included King Charles, Felicity Jones, and Georgia May Jagger. Delevingne’s daring look at the premiere comes just days after the 2025 Met Gala, where she was notably absent. Instead, she opted for a different blue carpet, showcasing her bold fashion choices in London.

On May 6, Delevingne attended the world premiere of "Ocean With David Attenborough" in London. The model wore a sheer metallic gown from Annie’s Ibiza, a Spain-based designer beloved by stars like Zendaya and Taylor Swift. The vintage gown, also from the 1920s, featured a plunging neckline and a deep open back, making it a striking choice for the event.

The striped neckline was crafted from real silver, while the rest of the dress utilized tulle-bi-telli, a hand-woven textile that originated in Upper Egypt during the 19th Century. The dress' geometric bottom interweaved cotton or linen threads with thin metal wires in silver, creating a liquid metal look. While the striped V-neck covered Delevingne’s nipples, the see-through skirt revealed her risqué G-string thong, which featured a lacy center with thin sides.

Delevingne layered an oversized black blazer over her dress, which paid a subtle homage to the Met Gala dress code “Tailored For You.” Around her neck, she wore a raven-shaped pendant from NVW Fine Jewelry, adorned with emerald-cut aquamarines, pearls, and black diamonds. Her simple silver hoop earrings ensured all eyes were on her necklace.

As for footwear, she completed her evening-wear ensemble with peep-toe platforms in dark blue velvet. Even though most of NYC is still recovering from Monday night’s festivities, Delevingne’s luxe look proves the style set never truly sleeps. While Met attendees get their bearings, all eyes are on London’s red carpet circuit.

Following the red carpet, Delevingne stepped out to a post-premiere event. Usually, an after-party would call for an outfit change, but the model and actor decided to keep on the same outfit she had worn to walk the red carpet in. And for good reason. All Delevingne had to do was remove the jacket to really go into party mode, which would truly show off the sheer qualities of her dress, or keep it on for the perfect hint of skin.

As the premiere of “Ocean With David Attenborough” approaches, Delevingne’s fashion choices continue to create buzz. Her ability to blend daring styles with classic elements showcases her unique approach to fashion, making her a standout figure on the red carpet. With more high-profile events on the horizon, fans eagerly await to see what she’ll wear next.
