Naseem Shah and Azam Khan among 1,300 players registered for the inaugural tournament

In a groundbreaking move for cricket in North America, the inaugural Canada Super 60 T10 League is set to launch in July 2025, and it's already creating a significant buzz in the cricketing community. Backed by legendary Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, this new league has attracted an impressive roster of around 1,300 players from 34 countries, showcasing the growing interest in T10 cricket.

The league will feature both men's and women's competitions, with 1,135 male and 235 female players registered. Among the high-profile names participating are Pakistani stars Naseem Shah and Azam Khan, as well as other international cricketers like Alex Hales, Jason Roy, and Fatima Sana. This diverse participation highlights the league's ambition to elevate the sport's profile in Canada and foster local talent.

As the excitement builds, the league's organizers have revealed that the tournament will consist of eight teams, promising thrilling matches and a festive atmosphere for cricket fans. The confirmed list of male players includes notable names such as Finn Allen, Sikandar Raza, Shamar Joseph, Keshav Maharaj, Tim Southee, and many more. Meanwhile, the women's division will feature stars like Fatima Sana, Jess Jonassen, and Deandra Dottin, ensuring that the competition is packed with talent.

"I’m absolutely thrilled to see some of the biggest names in world cricket signing up for the Canada Super 60! Their involvement will elevate the competition and provide invaluable exposure to Canadian players, fostering a sense of community and excitement among fans locally and globally," said Kyle Coetzer, assistant tournament director and Scottish cricket legend.

The league's innovative T10 format, although not yet officially recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), is gaining traction worldwide, with other leagues like the Abu Dhabi T10 attracting top international stars. The Canada Super 60 aims to capitalize on this trend, providing a platform for both established and emerging cricketers.

As anticipation grows, fans can look forward to the announcement of the player draft dates, which will be revealed soon. This draft will determine the team compositions for the inaugural season, further heightening the excitement surrounding the league.

With a diverse array of players and the backing of prominent figures in cricket, the Canada Super 60 T10 League is poised to make a significant impact on the cricketing landscape in North America. As the countdown to July begins, all eyes will be on how this new league unfolds and which teams Naseem Shah and Fatima Sana will join in what promises to be an exhilarating cricketing journey.
