Caixa Econômica Federal continues to expand its services to reach more communities, recently inauguraring its new branch at Cocais Shopping located on Avenida Piauí, Timon, Maranhão. The new facility, which opened on December 30, occupies 1,044 square meters on the first floor of the shopping center, previously home to three shops. Designed for modern functionality, the branch features 30 service points and enhanced provisions for customer comfort, including air conditioning, making it easier for clients to access banking without facing harsh weather.
The Timon branch operates with business hours from 10 AM to 3 PM for face-to-face services, with 12 automated terminals available from 8 AM to 8 PM. This strategic location facilitates increased foot traffic and accessibility, aligning with Caixa's commitment to provide efficient and inclusive services for all members of the community.
Community feedback has been enthusiastic about the new branch's amenities. Francisca Maria, 67, expressed her satisfaction saying, "Now it’s here at the shopping center, which is more centrally located and spacious. It will be easier to get things resolved here." Local attorney Débora Brandão noted the efficiency improvements, stating, "We saw huge lines at the old agency, where people had to wait outside in the sun or rain. The new air-conditioned environment with proper organization significantly enhances the service experience for everyone."
Aside from enhancements at the Timon branch, Caixa also announced the rollout of the Pé-de-Meia program on the same day, aimed at reducing school dropouts among high school and adult education students. Payments are being disbursed to students born in November and December and can be accessed through the CAIXA Tem app, which allows beneficiaries to transfer funds, make PIX transactions, and pay bills directly from their accounts.
With this program, Caixa aims to boost educational retention among students enrolled in public education systems. This initiative aligns with the bank's mission to support social welfare programs, enhancing the quality of life for residents through various financial assistance programs.
Beyond Timon, the expansion moves to Paranetinga, celebrating the long-awaited establishment of another Caixa branch. Following the official signing of the contract on June 24, 2024, the municipal building where Caixa will operate was until recently occupied by Banco do Brasil. To address immediate banking needs, Caixa will set up temporary service points at the municipal government building starting January 2025, staffed by seven personnel to provide initial banking services.
Mayor Marquinhos do Dedé characterized this development as transformative, saying, "This achievement is more than just management; it’s the realization of a dream uniting the Paranetinga community for years. We will now have access to core financial services without traveling to other cities, strengthening our local economic development."
The local administration is committed to making this expansion work, acknowledging the concerted effort from local and state representatives to bring about this milestone. With the arrival of Caixa Econômica Federal, residents will benefit from access to financial products, social programs, and loans vitally important for community growth.
Overall, these developments mark strides toward enhancing financial inclusion, demonstrating Caixa's dedication to serving the public faithfully and efficiently across various regions.
