BYD India is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated electric SUV, the BYD Sealion 7, on February 17, 2025. This event marks the company’s ambitious entry to the Indian electric vehicle market, following its successful introduction at the Auto Expo 2025. The Sealion 7 is set to be the most luxurious offering from BYD, with its pricing expected to start from Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
The BYD Sealion 7 SUV is generating excitement among automotive enthusiasts. Pre-booking for this electric crossover has already been initiated at dealerships across the country, with interested buyers required to pay a token amount of Rs 70,000. To sweeten the deal, BYD is offering several promotional advantages, including the opportunity for the first 70 customers to benefit from special offers, such as free installation of a 7kW AC home charger and a generous 7-year warranty (or 1,50,000 kilometers).
Equipped with impressive specifications, both the Premium and Performance variants of the Sealion 7 will feature an 82.56 kWh battery pack. This setup promises extensive driving ranges, with the Premium variant boasting 567 km and the Performance variant offering slightly less at 542 km. Performance-wise, the Premium version produces 313 hp and 380 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The Performance variant, on the other hand, steps it up with dual motors for all-wheel drive, delivering 523 hp and 690 Nm of torque, achieving the same acceleration benchmark within just 4.5 seconds.
Notable design elements include its sleek exterior characterized by flush door handles and LED lighting. Customers will be able to choose from color options including Cosmos Black, Atlantis Gray, Shark Gray, and Aurora White. Inside, the Sealion 7 is equipped with high-tech features such as a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen display, which offers full compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring connectivity for modern drivers.
Safety features are also at the forefront of the Sealion 7, with 11 airbags and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) integrated for enhanced security during journeys. This includes blind spot detection, lane departure assist, and 360-degree camera views to facilitate maneuvering.
