Burghausen Werbering Celebrates Community Growth And Sports Triumphs

Local businesses and sports teams mark significant successes at annual meeting and competitions.

The Burghausen Werbering recently held its annual general meeting, showcasing impressive progress and local achievements. This highlights the organization's focus on fostering local commerce through innovative initiatives.

Over the past year, the Werbering Burghausen has implemented various events and promotions aimed at energizing the local shopping experience. Forstpointner emphasized the effectiveness of initiatives such as the 'Super Deal Samstag', created as a replacement for seasonal sales. The initiative brought over 40 attractive offers to shoppers, successfully drawing crowds to the streets. The market thrived on such occasions, increasing visibility and customer engagement.

Particular acclaim also went to cross-media competitions, especially the "Gewinne deinen Einkauf zurück" format, which saw heightened participation and successfully directed traffic to burghausen-kauft-lokal.de, making local businesses more accessible and visible.

Events like the mai-Wies’n stood out, celebrating its 55th occurrence this year. With exclusive festival beer brewed for the event, it marked another defining success for the Werbering, reinforcing its role as a revenue source for funding subsequent marketing campaigns and activities. Forstpointner encouraged attendees to maximize these marketing tools: "Unsere Werbegemeinschaft stellt ihren Mitgliedern zahlreiche Events, Aktionen und Marketingmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung. Diese sind allerdings keine Selbstläufer!"

Online presence remains pivotal for the Werbering, with significant achievements acknowledged during the meeting. The website experienced improved search engine visibility, bolstered by effective investments. Social media, too, achieved remarkable engagement, with over 135,000 views recorded last month. Enhancing interaction is prioritized, with Christina Ehberger stepping in as the new social media contact dedicated to driving member engagement through video content.

Among the remarkable short-term successes attributed to the Werbering is the Burghauser Zehner, now celebrating its 10th anniversary and acting as a key support mechanism for local businesses. Since its inception, it's generated over 1 million euros through more than 100,000 distributed coupons, with 20,000 sold just this year—setting new records.

Greater online gift voucher adoption also marked 2024, witnessing nearly 30% growth compared to last year, contributing significantly to customer retention. Notably, the management highlighted the success of several promotional events, including the Golden Card giveaway, which saw around 700 responses, underscoring the community's engagement level.

The continuous support for its 160 members is evident through targeted training offerings. This year featured prominent sessions like “KI in der Praxis,” assisting businesses to adapt digital developments effectively. The Werbering also collaborated with Campus Burghausen on the Marketing-Challenge ``Mystery-Shopping,'' providing participating companies with valuable insights based on feedback from business administration students.

Following the financial report and board discharge, recognition focused on Anton Steinberger, the long-serving managing director of the economic development company. Steinberger’s contributions were respected as he received accolades during the meeting. Markus Nußbaumer introduced himself as Steinberger's successor, delivering insights on the future development of the Salzach area.

Meanwhile, local sports continue to showcase Burghausen's community spirit, particularly through the SV Wacker Burghausen handball team's recent success. The team dominated the match against SSG Metten with a 26:19 victory, recovering from their previous loss against SpVgg Altenerding. With players like Almin Bojic demonstrating exceptional defense, the team not only maintained pressure but also regained confidence as they prepared for the upcoming match against ASV Dachau.

The recent victory dubbed them the new second-place holders, setting the stage for what promises to be an electrifying clash against the leading team and strengthening the local sports culture.

Adding to the achievements are the volleyball players from DJK Darching, who, under the guidance of coach Maria Lindmeier, recently clinched the championship, securing their promotion to the Landesliga Süd-Ost. Success came after intense matches, including key victories against SV Wacker Burghausen and FTM Schwabing III, marking eleven consecutive wins.

Lindmeier credited the team for maintaining focus through challenging conditions. They delivered commendable performances, especially from players like Magdalena Huber, whose contributions were much praised. "Sie hat in beiden Spielen eine grandiose Leistung gezeigt," said Lindmeier, reflecting on the team’s spirit of resilience and determination.

Burghausen's commitment to both local commerce and its sports culture is evident through these combined efforts—the town not only boasts thriving businesses but also celebrates the spirit of sporting achievements. The Werbering and local athletic teams embody the essence of community engagement, ensuring Burghausen continues to flourish.
