According to board member Ellen Thornhill, "We do it because there’s a need. There are folks in our community who are hungry, hungry for food. Lee Skimin, another board member, emphasized the mission of Bridging RVA, stating, "Because nobody should go hungry on Christmas. Nobody should not have anywhere to go.
