Gritzbach, who was murdered at São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport on November 8, provided testimony to the São Paulo Public Ministry implicitating several high-profile figures, including politicians and police officers, for accepting substantial bribes.
According to reports from O Globo, Gritzbach's claims are under investigation by both the Public Ministry and the Civil Police's Corregedoria. He alleged he paid 4.2 million reais (approximately $1 million) to influential figures, including state deputy Delegado Olim from the Progressistas party, Fábio Pinheiro Lopes, the head of the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), and Murilo Fonseca Roque, head of the 24th Police District.
Gritzbach initially detailed the bribes during his testimony on September 9, shortly before his death. His statements indicated the need for judicial favours, such as the reinstatement of his passport and the unfreezing of his financial assets, which the alleged recipients promised to facilitate.
The payments were purportedly facilitated by Gritzbach's attorney, Ramsés Benjamin Samuel Costa Gonçalves, who allegedly claimed to have connections with Olim and other police officials. The testimony suggested Gritzbach made these payments to help him navigate legal troubles related to his past dealings with the notorious Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), where he was alleged to have been involved.
