Breeze Airways Expands Routes This Spring And Summer

New nonstop and one-stop flights connect Rochester, Memphis, and Albany to popular destinations.

Breeze Airways, the low-cost airline known for its "Seriously Nice" service, is set to launch exciting new route expansions this spring and summer. The airline has announced new nonstop and one-stop flights from three key cities: Rochester, Memphis, and Albany, connecting passengers to sought-after destinations like Charleston, Raleigh-Durham, Orlando, and New Orleans.

Starting May 8, Breeze will commence service from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport to Charleston, South Carolina, on Thursdays and Sundays. Introductory fares begin at just $59 one way. Similarly, flights to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, will begin on May 9, with service on Mondays and Fridays for fares starting at $49. New Orleans will also be accessible via Breeze's innovative "BreezeThru" service, where customers can enjoy one-stop flights without plane changes on the same days. Orlando will join the schedule with similar one-stop services beginning the same week.

Lukas Johnson, Breeze's Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the airline's commitment to providing exceptional service and value. "Everything is about wowing our guests," he noted, explaining how the airline aims to impress with its onboard services. Breeze Airways operates with Airbus A220 aircraft, which feature 137 seats, including 12 first-class seats and 45 with extra legroom. Passengers also benefit from modern amenities like power ports at every seat, making the flying experience as pleasurable as possible.

The expansion does not stop at Rochester. Breeze is also introducing new routes at Memphis International Airport. Service to Raleigh-Durham and Tampa will begin on May 7 and 9, respectively, with introductory fares starting at $45 and $49. The flights reflect Breeze's strategy to connect unserved and underserved markets, helping to meet community travel needs more effectively. David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, expressed excitement over the new Memphis routes, stating, "Memphis is a perfect fit for Breeze’s business model." The airline's emphasis on customer service will likely be welcomed by passengers accustomed to high competition and varied travel options.

For the Albany International Airport, Breeze Airways will also introduce nonstop routes to Raleigh-Durham and Charleston, starting June this year. This expansion marks another leap for Breeze, which aims to create strong connectivity between cities with significant travel demand. Peter Stuto, acting CEO of Albany International, mentioned the anticipation surrounding Breeze's arrival, stating, "It was sort of a dream… but we didn’t find out until recently" about their decision to operate from Albany.

Fresh competition often leads to improved service and lower fares for consumers, and many are optimistic about the potential changes Breeze's entry could bring. Johnson remarked on the airline's mission, asserting, "It’s brand-new. Guests love it"—indicative of their aiming to transform air travel experiences for passengers.

This route expansion by Breeze Airways continues the airline's upward trend as it has reported growing profits and service reach, having achieved its first operational profit by the end of 2024. This growth is likely to encourage other airlines to follow suit, providing even more options for passengers and enhancing air travel convenience.

With Breeze's latest offerings, the travel community, especially those caught up with rising airfares and limited choices, can expect more competitive pricing and improved connectivity to exciting destinations this summer. Breeze remains firmly dedicated to engaging with underserved markets and ensuring all travelers find engaging travel options without breaking the bank.
