The University of Pelotas (UFPel) has published the announcement for the first call of the waiting list for the Unified Selection System (SiSU) 2025 on February 12. Candidates interested should visit the site of the Coordination of Academic Records (CRA) for all enrollment instructions. The waiting lists for the first semester of 2025 are expected to be announced by February 14. To participate in this call, candidates must complete the application form and submit the required documentation between February 17 and 21, with results posted on February 28. Subsequent calls for the second semester will occur after the first semester’s enrollment concludes, with the first call for SiSU 2025/2 scheduled for July 21. Candidates are advised to check for updates on CRA’s website: https://wp.ufpel.edu.br/cra/.
Starting February 12, Brazilian universities utilizing the SiSU process began announcing convocations for students who were approved on the waiting lists. This call is set to last until September 30. Students who did not gain placement through SiSU but showed interest in the waiting list—applications were due by January 31—must remain alert to their chosen institutions’ websites to check for calls, which may appear throughout the year if spots remain available.
The SiSU serves as the principal channel for selecting students to public universities and federal institutes across Brazil. Candidates apply for their desired course, and the system retrieves their scores from the latest National High School Exam (Enem), which are then used for classification across institutions.
On February 12, candidates who expressed interest in participating on the waiting list for SiSU 2025 at the North of Minas Gerais Federal Institute (IFNMG) should stay updated on the publication of enrollment calls. Each IFNMG campus will release its individual waiting list announcement should there be any vacated spots. Details on procedures, dates, times, and locations for both enrollment and any required identification steps (for those competing for quotas) will be provided within these announcements. Given the varying academic calendars, each campus may release their calls and enrollment dates differently, making it the candidates' responsibility to track their campus's official communications.
Document requirements for all candidates include: enrollment request; high school completion record or declaration from a recognized institution; recent colored photos (3x4); original and copies of the birth or marriage certificates; personal ID and copy of the legal representative’s ID if underage; CPF for both the candidate and their representative if applicable; military service exemption proof for Brazilian males over 18; socio-economic form filled out during registration; proof of residence; SUS card; and electoral clearance (for those over 18) available from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). Specific documentation may apply to quota classifications, so candidates should verify per their submission during the SiSU waiting list.
Candidates who demonstrated interest during the waiting list period are only those who were not approved for either selected courses and were allowed to show interest after the results of the initial selection were opened on January 27. Candidates who were accepted for either of the two courses are not eligible for the waiting list.
Overall, the waiting list system aims to fill any remaining vacancies through transparent processes across participating universities, emphasizing the need for candidates to stay informed about their status and any developments from the institutions they have applied to.
