Brazil Announces Bolsa Família Payment Dates For March 2025

Payments set to begin on March 18, organized by beneficiaries' NIS numbers.

March marks the start of the 2025 payment schedule for the Bolsa Família program, which supports millions of Brazilian families. According to the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Combat, payments will begin on March 18, with specific dates depending on the last digit of each beneficiary's Social Identification Number (NIS), ensuring organized access to funds.

The payment structure is arranged so beneficiaries can collect their funds during the last ten working days of each month. This strategic approach aims to avoid overcrowding at banking facilities and allows for smoother transactions. The only exception to this schedule occurs each December when payments start on the 10th and wrap up just before Christmas.

For March 2025, the payment dates are allocated as follows:

  • NIS ending with 1: March 18

  • NIS ending with 2: March 19

  • NIS ending with 3: March 20

  • NIS ending with 4: March 21

  • NIS ending with 5: March 24

  • NIS ending with 6: March 25

  • NIS ending with 7: March 26

  • NIS ending with 8: March 27

  • NIS ending with 9: March 28

  • NIS ending with 0: March 31

The complete payment schedule for the Bolsa Família program throughout 2025 is as follows:

  • January: 20 to 31

  • February: 17 to 28

  • March: 18 to 31

  • April: 15 to 30

The Bolsa Família program encompasses six distinct benefits to address various needs:

  • Citizenship Income (BRC): R$ 142 per family member.

  • Complementary Benefit (BCO): Additional amount to guarantee at least R$ 600 per family.

  • Early Childhood Benefit (BPI): Extra R$ 150 for each child under the age of seven.

  • Family Variable Benefit (BVF): R$ 50 additional for pregnant women and children/adolescents aged between 7 and 18.

  • Nutritional Family Variable Benefit (BVN): An extra R$ 50 for each family member up to seven months of age.

  • Extraordinary Transitional Benefit (BET): Ensures no one receives less than they did under the previous program (Auxílio Brasil), valid until May 2025.

To qualify for Bolsa Família, families must meet certain conditions related to health and education:

  • Children and adolescents aged 4 to 17 must maintain school attendance.

  • Pregnant women should receive prenatal care.

  • Children up to seven years old need nutritional follow-ups.

  • Families must adhere to the national vaccination calendar.

Beneficiaries are also required to declare their participation in the Bolsa Família program when enrolling children in schools or taking them for vaccinations at health posts. Keeping track of these payment dates and criteria is key for families relying on this financial aid.

Overall, the Bolsa Família program plays a significant role in alleviating poverty and ensuring financial stability for many Brazilian households.
