From May 8 to May 31, 2025, the city will host a myriad of concerts, workshops, sports events, and cultural activities, many of which are free or require tickets, making it accessible for everyone to join in the celebrations.

The festivities kick off on Thursday, May 8, with a special event at the Biblioteca Pública Bosa called the Costurero Ecológico Herencia de Saberes, which will start at 10:00 a.m. This gathering aims to celebrate mothers in a unique way, blending ecological themes with heartfelt tributes. The event is free to attend, encouraging community participation.

Following this, on Friday, May 9, the Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán will be transformed into a musical haven as Verónica Linares takes the stage at 9:00 p.m. Accompanied by over 40 musicians from the Filarmónica Metropolitana Distrito Capital, Linares will perform beloved songs made famous by the iconic Rocío Dúrcal. This promises to be a night filled with nostalgia and emotion, perfect for celebrating mothers.

Also on May 9, the Biblioteca Pública El Mirador will host a unique initiative where poems will be read over the phone to mothers of users. This heartfelt gesture aims to connect families through literature and love, allowing those who may not be able to visit in person to still participate in the celebrations.

As the weekend approaches, the celebrations continue with the Filarmónica Juvenil de Cámara performing on Saturday, May 10, at 3:00 p.m. at the Teatro El Parque. This concert will showcase a journey through time with musical pieces from various eras, providing a rich auditory experience for mothers and their families.

Later that evening, at 7:00 p.m., Ricardo Torres and his Mariachi will present "Serenata para Mamá" at the Teatro El Ensueño. This performance will feature popular songs dedicated to mothers, creating a warm and festive atmosphere for families to enjoy together.

On Sunday, May 11, the celebrations will continue with a special focus on musical genres that resonate with the heart. At 2:00 p.m. in Parque Villa Luz, the Escenarios Móviles will present a variety of rancheras, boleros, and plancha music, inviting families to enjoy an afternoon filled with rhythm and melody.

Simultaneously, the Grupos de Cámara de la Banda Filarmónica Juvenil will perform at the Plazoleta Centro Nacional de las Artes Delia Zapata Olivella at 3:00 p.m., further enriching the cultural offerings of the day.

In addition to the musical events, Bogotá's Ciclovía will feature decorations and activities on Carrera Séptima with Calle 60 and Calle 72, enhancing the festive spirit throughout the city. This will include photo opportunities and messages of appreciation for mothers, creating a community atmosphere of gratitude and celebration.

On Tuesday, May 13, additional activities will be held at the Biblioteca Público Escolar Pasquilla at 9:30 a.m., followed by a "Yoga y Gratitud" session at 2:00 p.m. at the Biblioteca Pública La Peña. These events are designed to provide a relaxing space for mothers to unwind and connect with their inner selves.

As the month draws to a close, a significant event will take place on Saturday, May 31, at the Plaza Distrital de Mercado de Las Cruces from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This event, organized in collaboration with local artistic and cultural collectives, aims to honor mothers in the community through creative performances and activities.
