The situation escalated when Tulasi opened the parcel, only to discover the decomposed remains of the victim along with a letter threatening dire consequences if the hefty sum was not paid. The West Godavari Superintendent of Police, Adnan Nayeem Asmi, stated, "The victim had been reported missing since December 15, when he was last seen with Chekuri Sridhar Varma." Parlayya, who had been living separately from his wife for 15 years and was known for his alcohol consumption, had been working for Varma, who is now the focus of the investigation.
Authorities have established connections between the delivery and Varma’s brother-in-law, Siddharth Varma, who allegedly fled after the delivery occurred. A thorough investigation initiated by the police includes scrutiny of phone records, aiming to piece together the motives and identify the links between the parties involved. "Our investigation shows possible family disputes over property as the underlying motive behind this gruesome act," said Superintendent Adnan Nayeem.
The police have started searching for Siddharth Varma, who is suspected of being involved due to his behavior after the parcel's delivery. Eyewitness reports suggest he’s been avoiding contact and has switched off his multiple SIM cards.
