Boca Raton Armed Robbery: $250K Stolen From Victims

Police seek public's help after armed men steal cash and valuables from victims returning home.

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Boca Raton police are actively searching for three suspects involved in a brazen armed robbery early Saturday morning, resulting in the loss of nearly $250,000 worth of cash, watches, and mobile phones.

The incident unfolded just after midnight on the 600 block of NE 29th Place when two victims returned home from a nearby casino. According to Boca Raton Police (BBPD), the victims recounted the moment they were confronted by three armed men as they exited their vehicle.

"The suspects came out from behind the bushes, pointed guns at the victims, and demanded their belongings," said Boca Raton police spokesperson. The assailants forcibly took watches, cash, phones, and even snatched a firearm from the center console of the victims' car before trying to steal the vehicle.

After obtaining their ill-gotten gains, the suspects fled westbound on foot and were seen moving toward an unknown vehicle. The police described the suspects as black males, approximately 20 years old, dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks at the time of the robbery.

Interestingly, the victims’ cell phones were found abandoned and damaged just moments after the incident, laying carelessly on the middle of the road, hinting at the chaotic escape.

Investigators have urged local residents to assist the investigation by checking their exterior home surveillance cameras for any footage available around the time of the assault. This community cooperation may be instrumental in identifying the suspects.

Boca Raton police emphasized the seriousness of this crime and the need for vigilance within the community, encouraging anyone who may have more information or video evidence to contact Detective Alfredo Lima directly at 561-620-6246.

The thorough investigation by the BBPD continues, as they comb through potential leads and any surveillance footage gathered from nearby homes.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the safety concerns facing residents, as police reiterated their commitment to apprehend those responsible for this alarming act of violence.

Anyone with information relating to the robbery or the suspects is strongly urged to reach out to the Boca Raton Police Department. Your assistance could prove invaluable to restoring safety and justice to the neighborhood.
