BNI Distributes Food Packages During Ramadan Charity Initiative

The community-focused efforts aim to support residents in need while fostering social ties during the holy month.

On March 21, 2025, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) made a generous contribution that underscores its commitment to social welfare during the holy month of Ramadan. Through its Bogor Branch (KC), BNI distributed staple food packages to the Bogor City Government, which will ensure these essentials reach families in need.

In a meaningful ceremony, Branch Manager Christa Primaresta symbolically handed over 465 packages of food to Mayor Dedie A. Rachim at the city’s Hall. "We are grateful to receive these packages. This assistance will be directed to the Social Welfare section where it will be distributed to those truly in need, including the mustahik," said Mayor Rachim, reflecting the collaborative spirit intended for this initiative.

Part of a larger program, dubbed 'Ramadhan Berlimpah, BNI Berbagi,' the food assistance is not just a charitable act but also a part of the bank's commitment to enhancing community ties and fighting hunger. The Mayor hopes that this initiative will make a significant difference in the lives of recipients, providing essential resources during a time of spiritual reflection and resilience.

Additionally, BNI’s endeavors did not stop with Bogor. The bank participated in the 2025 Sobat Aksi Ramadhan Program, launched by the Ministry of BUMN, aimed at fostering community spirit and social responsibility. This particular outreach program commenced on March 20, 2025, in Sungai Sahurai Village, located in Barito Kuala, South Kalimantan, where BNI volunteers engaged actively in renovating the Anwarul Fata Mosque.

According to Corporate Secretary of BNI, Okki Rushartomo, the Ramadan period serves as a timely opportunity to strengthen communal bonds. He stated, "Through social activities, BNI hopes to cultivate a spirit of mutual cooperation, increase social awareness, and enhance harmonious relationships between BNI and the community."

In this spirit of giving, 35 dedicated volunteers from BNI participated in transforming the mosque facilities. Their tasks included painting the mosque's walls and ablution area, and installing a new ceiling in the courtyard to improve the worship experience for community members.

Local secretary Rahmadi pointed to the positive impact of these initiatives, stating, "The improvements allow congregants to worship in greater comfort. We hope that BUMN's presence continues to benefit our community, especially in this area." This successful engagement exemplifies BNI’s commitment not only to economic advancement but also to uplifting local welfare through tangible actions.

Both the charitable food distributions in Bogor and the renovations in South Kalimantan highlight how corporate entities like BNI can play pivotal roles in community development. These efforts coincided beautifully with Ramadan, emphasizing values of generosity and solidarity. With these programs, BNI seeks to enhance its relationship with the public, embedding itself into the fabric of community support.

As Ramadan continues, such initiatives are crucial in reminding society of the importance of giving back and contributing to the welfare of those less fortunate. BNI's actions serve as a call to other corporations and individuals to participate in similar acts of kindness, especially during this sacred season.
