The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is set to announce the much-anticipated Class 12 results for 2025, with expectations that the announcement will occur by the end of March. The result date is projected to fall around March 28, 2025, as indicated by various authoritative sources.
This year, an impressive total of 12,92,313 students registered for the Intermediate exams, which took place at 1,677 centers across Bihar. Among these candidates, 6,41,847 were girls and 6,50,466 were boys. The BSEB Chairman, Anand Kishore, is expected to declare the results during a press conference, where critical details including pass percentages, names of toppers, and information regarding the re-evaluation process will be shared.
To qualify in the BSEB Class 12 examination 2025, students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in their theory papers and 40% in practical exams. Exam results will be available on the official BSEB website results.biharboardonline.com as well as biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in.
In terms of recent performance, the overall pass percentage for the Class 12 exam in 2024 was 87.21%, with significant disparities across different streams. Specifically, the pass percentages were 87.80% in Science, 86.15% in Arts, 94.88% in Commerce, and 85.38% in Vocational studies. Remarkably, girls outperformed boys in all academic streams during this period.
Historically, the BSEB has shown a trend of announcing results within 40 days following the conclusion of examinations. For reference, in 2024, the Class 12 exams were completed on February 12, and results were released on March 23—40 days later. In 2023, results followed a similar pattern, with examinations concluding on February 11 and results being available by March 21, just 38 days post-exam.
The BSEB Class 12 exam for the current academic year commenced on February 1 and concluded on February 15, 2025, with theory exams conducted in two shifts, starting at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Each session included a 15-minute cool-off period before the exam commenced.
Upon the declaration of results, students can expect a detailed scorecard indicating vital statistics such as total aggregate marks, division status, and individual subject scores in theory and practical components. Categorization for divisions is based on specific scoring ranges. Students achieving a total score of 300 or more will be placed in the first division, those with scores from 225 to 299 in the second division, and those scoring between 150 and 224 in the third division.
Furthermore, students who do not meet the minimum passing criteria will have the opportunity to retake their exams in supplementary exams. Details regarding these supplementary examinations will be released post-results, along with information about any potential re-evaluation processes.
Students are encouraged to keep their admit cards handy when checking their results, as they will need their roll numbers and other details listed on their hall tickets to access their scores online. The BSEB is also expected to communicate the exact time of the result announcement via its official social media platforms on Twitter and Facebook.
As anticipation builds, it’s essential for students to stay informed and prepared, monitoring the BSEB's official channels for real-time updates. Interest in this year's results remains high, with many looking to outperform previous years' results and achieve their academic goals.
Looking back at last year’s results, top performers included Mrityunjay Kumar, who clinched the top spot in the Science stream with a score of 96.2% and Tushar Kumar, who led in the Arts stream with 96.4%. In the Commerce stream, Priya Kumari achieved the highest marks with 95.6%.
Students across Bihar are closely following updates about the results, hoping to emulate the success stories of past years. As the BSEB prepares to unveil the results, it marks an important milestone in the academic journey of these young scholars, impacting their future educational and career paths.
