The Secretaría del Bienestar has announced the payment schedule for the Bienestar Pension for the upcoming March-April 2025 bimester, aiming to support vulnerable populations across Mexico. The payments will be distributed from March 18 to March 21, 2025, according to the first letter of the beneficiaries' last names, ensuring organized and efficient resource distribution. Notably, all deposits will be paused on March 17, 2025, as the country commemorates the birth of Benito Juárez, which is considered a national holiday.
On Tuesday, March 18, beneficiaries whose last names start with the letter M will be the first to receive their funds, followed by others based on their initials. This staggered schedule is intended to avoid overcrowding at banking institutions.
According to the official publication, the financial support allocated for the Pensión para el Bienestar de las Personas Adultas Mayores is set at 6,200 pesos every two months. For individuals with disabilities, the amount is 3,200 pesos, providing support for their daily needs. Meanwhile, the Apoyo para Niñas y Niños, Hijos de Madres Trabajadoras varies between 1,650 and 3,720 pesos, depending on individual circumstances. Women participating in the Pensión Mujeres Bienestar will also receive 3,000 pesos bimonthly to assist them economically, especially after years of dedication to home and family care.
Eligible beneficiaries can conveniently access their funds via the Banco del Bienestar ATM network without incurring fees. It is imperative, as reminded by the authorities, for beneficiaries to check the status of their cards beforehand to avoid any inconveniences. Beneficiaries are encouraged to visit their respective banks on their designated days to minimize long waiting periods.
Ariadna Montiel Reyes, the head of Bienestar, emphasized the government's commitment to assisting vulnerable populations, indicating the importance of following the payment schedule and contacting support services for any queries.
Compounding the situation, the Mujeres Bienestar program, which provides financial aid to Mexican women aged 60 to 64, is also on pause today, March 17, 2025, due to the same holiday observance. Under this program, women receive assistance of 3,000 pesos, with beneficiaries from Veracruz and Durango receiving double the amount—6,000 pesos—to account for upcoming elections scheduled for June 1, 2025.
This suspension of payments on March 17 ensures compliance with the Federal Labor Law concerning official days of rest, which also affects business operations, including banks, causing the Banco del Bienestar to remain closed. These measures aim to create equitable access for all beneficiaries on opening days.
The last payments for the Mujeres Bienestar program were disbursed on March 14, 2025, for those whose last names begin with M. The subsequent payments will resume on March 18, again prioritizing the largest group of beneficiaries.
For women aged 60 to 64 who wish to enroll in the Mujeres Bienestar program, the enrollment will reopen nationwide starting August 2025. Eligibility for this program includes being Mexican, within the specified age range, and not currently receiving benefits from any other social program.
Prospective beneficiaries must provide specific documentation at their local Bienestar modules, such as their birth certificate, CURP (Unique Population Registry Code), government-issued photo ID, and proof of residence no older than three months.
This initiative aims to support women from various communities, including Indigenous and Afro-Mexican populations, with the process being free from charge. Any requirement for payment during enrollment should be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Through these initiatives, the government hopes to provide substantial support to those who need it most, allowing many to achieve greater financial independence. Citizens are advised to stay informed about the latest developments to benefit from these valuable programs.
