Bianca Balti Co-Hosts Sanremo 2025, Celebrates Life After Cancer

The supermodel shares her powerful message of resilience and joy during the iconic music festival.

Bianca Balti, the renowned supermodel, is co-hosting the second night of Sanremo 2025, bringing her inspiring story of resilience and strength to the forefront. After bravely battling ovarian cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, Balti is determined to focus not on her past struggles but on celebrating life itself.

Arriving at the iconic Ariston Theatre, Balti turned heads with her elegant all-black outfit, adorned with dramatic earrings and her head gracefully wrapped in a black scarf. It was not just her appearance but her message of empowerment and authenticity which drew audiences closer. Taking to social media, she expressed joy at unlocking her potential: “I’ve unblocked the potential of my new self, feeling my worth again,” she shared, hinting at the personal transformation she experienced during her treatment.

“I don't come here to be seen as the cancer patient, but as the professional I am,” Balti declared during the press conference at the festival, emphasizing her role as co-host alongside renowned personalities like Carlo Conti and Cristiano Malgioglio. With her infectious smile and charisma, she intends to shift the narrative from one of pity to one of joy, stating, “I want my presence to be a celebration of life.”

This commitment to living fully is reinforced by her experiences since being diagnosed last September. Balti candidly discussed her encounters with the fashion industry, noting, “After my cancer diagnosis, brands stopped calling me.” She reflected on the transient nature of her modeling career with humility, stating, “Modeling chose me; I didn’t choose it.” Her career spans two decades, characterized by high-profile partnerships with prestigious labels like Dolce & Gabbana and Dior.

Balti's candidness touches deeply on her emotional and physical transformation. “With my long scar and no hair, I don’t represent the traditional model stereotype anymore,” she stated recently, voicing her determination to return to work and show her body “in a new light.” She has embraced her appearance post-chemotherapy, showcasing her strength through social media, where her followers are privy to her personal and professional growth.

Throughout her battle with cancer, Balti found solace and strength by connecting with other women undergoing similar challenges. “I’ve not spoken with Eleonora Giorgi, but I’m communicating with many women who had their surgeries on the same day as me; it’s immensely empowering to share our journeys,” she explained, advocating support and shared experiences among women facing adversity.

Carlo Conti highlighted Balti's presence for this year's festival as particularly poignant, dubbing her “a warrior.” He remarked, “The second night of Sanremo 2025 will be extraordinarily special because of the presence of this remarkable woman.” Balti, now 40, exudes joy and passion for life, determined to share her story of triumph over adversity.

Despite her struggles, Balti refuses to wallow or portray herself solely as the victim. “I’m not coming to Sanremo to evoke pity; I’m here to embrace joy and showcase my beautiful outfits,” she said, often remarking on her desire to have fun and spread positivity rather than sadness. During the press conference, she spoke of wanting to send messages of hope through her participation without focusing on her battles daily.

Having once graced the Sanremo stage for the finals back when Fabio Fazio hosted, returning after almost 12 years is not just about her career, but about reclaiming her narrative. “I’m here to really enjoy myself— I could have stayed home and felt sorry for myself, but instead, I’m here to share my vibrant spirit with everyone,” Balti stated enthusiastically.

She stressed the need for representation and visibility for women with health challenges within the fashion industry, stating, “It’s about acknowledging the reaction of brands to bodies undergoing changes.” This drive for authenticity has led her to embrace herself wholly, shifting her views from traditional standards of beauty to celebrating personal realities.

During her time at Sanremo 2025, Balti wants to encourage others to perceive strength and joy even amid challenges. “People going through similar experiences want joy, not pity,” she added, reiteratively compelling the audience to focus on the positives rather than the negatives of life.

Bianca Balti stands at Sanremo not just as a supermodel, but as a symbol of resilience and empowerment. Her story invites us to cherish life’s precious moments, embody authenticity, and appreciate the strength found within ourselves and each other.
