Beyoncé Launches SirDavis Whiskey Brand

The pop superstar's new venture pays homage to her family's legacy and promises to deliver quality craftsmanship

Beyoncé is stepping not just onto the stage but also onto the shelves with her new whiskey brand, SirDavis, inspired by family history and crafted by experts. This groundbreaking announcement places her alongside other celebrities who have successfully launched their own alcohol brands.

The pop superstar has partnered with Moët Hennessy, part of the luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, to create this unique whiskey. Touting her new venture as something years in the making, she expressed excitement about bringing her family history to the forefront.

SirDavis is named for her great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, who was known for his moonshine distilling during Prohibition. Beyoncé revealed, “When I discovered my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whiskey was fated.”

This new whiskey is not just about nostalgia; it’s also about quality. According to her press release, the whiskey consists of 51 percent rye and 49 percent malted barley, handcrafted under the guidance of master distiller Bill Lumsden, who has deep roots with renowned Scottish distilleries like Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.

Each bottle of SirDavis will retail for $89 and is available for pre-order through various delivery platforms like ReserveBar and GoPuff. The official launch is set for September, just as whiskey enthusiasts gear up for the fall season.

The packaging reflects Beyoncé’s Texas roots, featuring ribbed glass and horse medallions as nods to the Lone Star State's rich history. The whiskey is blended and bottled directly in Texas, embracing the authenticity of Southern craftsmanship.

“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whiskey,” Beyoncé continued. She hopes SirDavis invites more people to experience those feelings.

Fans have eagerly received the announcement, noting it follows her other business ventures, including her haircare line recently released. SirDavis is set to hit retail shelves alongside her notable achievements like her chart-topping albums.

Beyoncé's entry to the spirits market follows the successful paths of celebrities like George Clooney and Ryan Reynolds, who have made millions through their tequila and gin brands, respectively. This trend shows the lucrative nature of the celebrity alcohol industry.

Hogue, Beyoncé's great-grandfather, carved out his own legacy as he stashed whiskey bottles within the hollow knots of cedar trees for friends and family to discover. His undertakings resonate with Beyoncé, who feels connected to her roots through this brand.

She expressed pride in her new venture: “SirDavis is my way to pay homage to him, uniting us through this new shared legacy.
