The iconic music event promises stellar performances and unforgettable collaborations

Music lovers, mark your calendars because the much-anticipated "Best Hit Song Festival 2024" is set to light up the evening on November 14th! Broadcasting live from the iconic Osaka Castle Hall, this year marks the 56th iteration of the festival, previously known as the "All Japan Cable Broadcasting Awards". With three hours of non-stop entertainment kicking off at 7:00 PM, it promises to be a night to recall some of the greatest hits from various eras.

This year, 25 prominent artists are scheduled to perform, showcasing unique collaborations along with their hit songs. The event will feature its well-loved segments, including medleys celebrating songs from the 90s and 80s. The festival serves as not only a musical celebration but also as a time capsule, inviting audiences to relive the nostalgia attached to these songs.

Returning as hosts, the beloved duo of Seiji Miyane and Eiji Wentz promise to keep the energy high and the audience engaged throughout the show. With their trademark chemistry, fans can expect plenty of laughs and memorable moments.

One of the highlights is the "90s Birth Song Medley" where artists born during, or associated with, this decade will come together to perform iconic tracks. Some notable performances include:

  • Yuta Tamamori (Kis-My-Ft2) teaming up with Sota Hanamura (Da-iCE) to deliver "Roman Hikou" by Kome Kome Club.
  • Team 1994-95 featuring Daiki Sato (FANTASTICS), Natsuaki Sawamoto (FANTASTICS), and Seiya Sueyasu (Aぇ! group) with "Sekai ga Owaru made wa..." by WANDS.
  • For the finale of the medley, Mai Minami (NOGIZAKA46) leads with her group members performing "Apollo" by Porno Graffiti.

Following the energetic performances of the 90s segment, the evening will transition to the "80s Birth Song Medley", featuring collaborations from popular artists such as:

  • KIMI and U-YEAH from DA PUMP collaborating with Ryuhei Maruyama (SUPER EIGHT) on "Megumi no Hito" by Rats & Stars.
  • Daichi Miura and Taisuke Fujigaya delivering "Linda Linda" from THE BLUE HEARTS.
  • A music video crossover with Aina the End presenting her hit "Houja".

The grand finale of the event will include the much-anticipated "2024 Hit Dance Medley"—a segment mastered to get everyone on their feet, dancing along to recent chart-topping hits.

An exciting feature of this year’s festival is the television premiere of the new song "Hodokoshi" by NOGIZAKA46, their 37th single àway to pull at the heartstrings of fans.

For those eager to catch the performances live or re-experience the excitement, the event will cater to viewers with some exclusive online content. This show means more than just music; it signifies the growth of artists, the unity of different eras, and the continuing legacy of J-Pop.
