The music community mourns the loss of Dulce, known for her powerful voice and timeless songs.

The music world mourns the loss of iconic Mexican singer Dulce, who passed away on Christmas Day at the age of 69. Known for her powerful voice and romantic ballads, Dulce's death was confirmed by her sister, Isabel Noeggerath, on social media.

Isabel's emotional message read, "Sister, you are now with our mom singing in heaven. I will miss you. Rest in peace. I love you." This heartfelt statement accompanied by a cherished family photo reflects the deep bond between the sisters, marking the end of Dulce's remarkable life.

Dulce, whose real name was Bertha Elisa Noeggerath Cárdenas, faced numerous health challenges leading to her demise. She had recently suffered complications from surgery for pleuropulmonary decortication, which she underwent due to severe pneumonia. Despite this complicated medical procedure to restore her lung function, Dulce's health took a turn for the worse.

After experiencing kidney issues and lung cancer, Dulce's health deteriorated rapidly. According to reports, she was hospitalized for two weeks and succumbed to her ailments early on the morning of December 25, 2023. The National Association of Actors (ANDA) lamented her passing, stating, "The National Association of Actors deeply regrets the passing of our companion Bertha Elisa Noeggerath Cárdenas, ‘Dulce’. Our condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues. Rest in peace."

Dulce was born on July 29, 1954, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She began her musical career at the age of 20 and quickly became one of the most beloved figures in the Latin music scene. Her participation in significant music festivals, like the Festival de Mallorca and the Festival de la Canción Yamaha, helped catapult her to fame.

Throughout her career, Dulce released numerous hits, including iconic songs such as "Tu muñeca," "Lobo," "Déjame volver contigo," and "Hielo." Her music, often marked by emotional depth and vocal prowess, earned her accolades and established her as a major figure not only in Mexico but across Latin America. Even her role as the singer of the theme song for the 1988 telenovela "Amor en silencio" had lasting significance among her fans.

Beyond her singing career, Dulce also ventured successfully Into acting, with appearances on Mexican television shows such as "Muñeca rota," "Soñadoras," and "Mundo de fieras." Her versatility made her not just a music icon but also a respected actress, admired by many for her talents.

Despite her immense popularity, as time passed, Dulce had to confront various health hurdles. Earlier this year, she underwent surgery to remove one of her kidneys after being diagnosed with cancer. Following this operation, Dulce faced other serious health issues, including pneumonia, which forgone her ability to perform and disrupted her life significantly.

Struggling with illness, she still shared updates with her fans on Instagram, expressing confidence about her recovery and gratitude for the support she received. "Dear friends, media, and public who always accompany me. I want to share with you all, as per medical recommendations, I find myself hospitalized facing health concerns requiring care and rest. I’m calm, under good care, and confident of recovering fully soon," she wrote.

Yet, tragedy struck as her condition worsened following her surgery. Dulce's passing on Christmas marked not only the loss of her vibrant presence but also left her fans and peers bereft of the warmth and passion she infused through her music.

Dulce's impact on the music scene will not be forgotten; her songs will continue to resonate, leaving behind memories for generations. Her resilience and ability to tackle life challenges inspire many, reflecting strength amid adversity.

Her remarkable legacy lives on through her music and the hearts she touched, ensuring she will be fondly remembered for the gift she left behind. From her early days to chart-topping hits, Dulce solidified her stature as one of the quintessential voices of romantic ballads in Mexican music, weaving her narrative through powerful melodies and heartfelt lyrics.

Today, fans celebrate her life, cherishing the indelible mark she made within the cultural fabric of Latin music. While the industry weeps the loss of Dulce, her contributions will forever echo through the songs she gifted to the world—an enduring testimony to her artistry and legacy.
