Beca Rita Cetina Program Launches Card Distribution For Students

Financial assistance of 1,900 pesos bimonthly supports secondary students and their families

The Beca Rita Cetina program is set to provide much-needed financial assistance to secondary school students across several municipalities in Mexico, as the distribution of cards began this week.

Starting March 17, 2025, the program has initiated the delivery of cards specifically designed for students enrolled in secondary education. The first phase of distributions has already taken place in Navojoa, where students from various schools, including Secundaria #29 and Othón Almada, benefitted from this initiative. With the rollout being targeted, Yolanda Mendoza, the program supervisor in Navojoa, explained that the delivery was conducted over two days in various time slots to ensure a well-organized process.

As for the plan moving forward, Mendoza indicated that Wednesday, March 19, 2025, marks a critical date as distributions ramp up to include other municipalities like Álamos, Etchojoa, Huatabampo, and Benito Juárez. The strategy is to first reach the main town centers before advancing to outlying communities.

"For this Wednesday, we will be delivering cards in municipalities such as Álamos, Etchojoa, Huatabampo, and Benito Juárez, starting in the municipal capitals before moving on to the outlying areas," Mendoza stated, emphasizing the systematic approach of the program.

The financial component of the Beca Rita Cetina program promises to be beneficial for families, with bimonthly payments of 1,900 pesos being provided. However, this program also includes an additional 700 pesos for each secondary student in the household. Although the authorities announced that undelivered cards will be redistributed at a later date with no specific timeframe yet set, the emphasis is on ensuring every eligible student receives their assistance.

The Coordinación Nacional de Becas para el Bienestar Benito Juárez has provided a pathway for families to inquire about the delivery of their cards. The department has shared a web resource where families can find out updates about their inquiry. Parents are instructed to visit the site at buscador.becasbenitojuarez.gob.mx/escuelas, where they can enter the required 10-character Clave de Centro de Trabajo (CCT) to locate the information about when they can expect to pick up their cards.

Julio León, head of the National Coordination of Scholarships, conveyed the accessibility of this new information. He urged families who have yet to receive their cards to use the online tool. “If we have yet to give you your @bbienestarmx card, now you can check when we will visit your child's school!” León reassured parents while encouraging them to stay informed of their status through the portal.

Visitors to the page can find the exact date of delivery by entering their CCT, which is typically found on official documents such as report cards or enrollment certificates. In case there is no information after submitting their details, they should return to the portal later as the delivery process will occur gradually.

Moreover, as the delivery period is approaching its end date of March 28, 2025, parents and guardians are reminded to have the proper documents ready for collection. To collect the Beca Rita Cetina card, individuals must present an official identification, proof of address, as well as the CURP for both the parent or guardian and the student.

Among the necessary documents, it's crucial that families have their identification, the respective act of birth copies, and CURP at hand. This step is designed to streamline the process and avoids any delays in the distribution of this essential financial support.

The first payment of this scholarship, distributed on March 12, 2025, provided the much-awaited funds for those already in possession of their cards. León confirmed that over one million secondary school students have benefited from this financial aid. The launching of the Beca Rita Cetina marks a significant milestone in support for families, with more than a million students expected to receive this critical assistance.

As the program progresses, attention is fixed on the timely distribution to ensure that families receive their funds well. Parents who have yet to receive their cards have been given reassurance by program coordinators, advocating a smooth flow of the distribution.

The road ahead will involve careful tracking of the ongoing card deliveries and ensuring that all eligible households can access the financial assistance they require. Monitoring and management will be crucial to achieve the desired outcomes of this program and provide relief for families dependent on this support.
