Baltimore Faces Cold Weather And Rain This Weekend

Showers postpone Orioles game as temperatures dip to 40 degrees

Cold temperatures have returned to the Baltimore area, and residents can expect these chilly conditions to persist through the weekend. However, a shift towards more spring-like weather is on the horizon for next week. The current weather has already led to disruptions, including the postponement of the Baltimore Orioles' scheduled game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday evening, April 11, 2025.

According to reports, showers have been sweeping across Maryland, with steady rain bands moving northward through greater Baltimore. The Orioles' game, originally set for 7:05 p.m. at Camden Yards, was called off due to the inclement weather. Rainfall amounts are expected to reach between 0.5 and 0.75 of an inch, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 22 miles per hour. As temperatures drop to around 40 degrees, the dreary weather is likely to continue throughout the night.

Looking ahead to Saturday, April 12, 2025, residents can expect more showers, particularly before 2 p.m. The forecast predicts a high of approximately 49 degrees, with wind gusts reaching as high as 21 miles per hour. There remains a 30% chance of additional showers Saturday evening, primarily before 8 p.m., with temperatures dipping back down to around 40 degrees.

Fortunately, Sunday, April 13, 2025, promises a change in the weather pattern, with expectations for partly sunny skies and a slight warming trend. The high is projected to reach near 61 degrees, while the low will be around 44 degrees. This gradual warming trend will continue into the early part of the workweek, with Monday, April 14, 2025, forecasted to be partly sunny and reaching a high of 69 degrees. The low that evening is expected to drop to 55 degrees, with a slight chance of showers before 2 a.m.

Tuesday, April 15, 2025, will see a return to partly sunny conditions, albeit slightly cooler, with a high near 66 degrees and a low of 42 degrees. By Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the forecast indicates mostly clear conditions with a high near 56 degrees and a low around 38 degrees.

The WJZ First Alert Weather Team issued an Alert Day through Friday night due to the stormy weather affecting the region. As bands of rain continue to impact Maryland, the forecast remains dreary, prompting residents to prepare for the wet conditions.

In summary, while the Baltimore area is currently experiencing a cold snap and rainy weather, there is light at the end of the tunnel with warmer temperatures expected to return next week. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather changes and to take necessary precautions during this wet spell.
