Bahrain's Royal Charity Organization Advances Major Initiatives

Sheikh Nasser highlights projects for youth training and community support at recent board meeting.

Under the patronage of Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, significant advancements were recently announced at the Royal Charity Organization's board meeting held on March 3, 2025. During this meeting, Sheikh Nasser reviewed the updates concerning royal directives aimed at enhancing strategic projects and developmental programs targeted at various demographics within the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Sheikh Nasser highlighted the preparations for the National Center for Vocational Training and Qualification, which aims to train and empower Bahraini youth. The project is expected to cultivate national competencies through high-level community partnerships and promote values of citizenship among students, preparing them for suitable employment or higher education.

Further discussions included the signing of agreements for the construction of investment towers for the Royal Charity Organization, which are being realized through royal generosity. Other projects discussed included the charitable building located in Al-Hidd and another investment project in the Al-Jasra area.

Sheikh Nasser emphasized the importance of diversifying income sources for the organization to support its initiatives and activities. This effort is integral to assisting orphans, widows, and other needy segments of society, contributing to comprehensive humanitarian and social advancements. It aims to alleviate the burdens faced by many struggling families and contribute to the wider community.

Sheikh Nasser expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the honorary president of the Royal Charity Organization, for his continuous generosity and substantial awards provided to orphans, widows, and those in need within Bahrain. His Majesty's efforts are directed toward securing their futures and enhancing their living standards.

During the meeting, the members commended the King's humanitarian gestures toward regions and people affected by calamities, reflecting Bahrain's steady and clear stance toward assisting friends and allies globally. Sheikh Nasser praised the substantial backing from the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and the steadfast support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince.

Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, Secretary General of the Royal Charity Organization, presented the organization’s achievements over the past period. This included delivering various forms of assistance including material, health, educational, and social services to orphans, widows, and other underprivileged groups across Bahrain. He also reported on humanitarian relief initiatives for other countries and key developmental projects the organization is progressing.

One significant endeavor is the construction of the Scientific Complex for Syrian refugees at the Zaatari camp located within Jordan. This project seeks to provide educational opportunities amid the crisis. Attention was also drawn to the impending official inauguration of the Kingdom of Bahrain school, celebrated as the largest educational facility in the Gaza Strip, featuring four floors equipped with comprehensive educational and recreational facilities.

Closing the meeting, board members lauded the king's supreme directives to assist those in need within Bahrain, as well as the support for alleviating the plights of affected individuals and communities abroad. They appreciated the continuous support from the government directed at the Royal Charity Organization, highlighting the socio-economic uplifting of orphans, widows, and deserving citizens.

Members affirmed the importance of community partnerships with the private sector to execute charitable projects, aiming to rise the living standards for deserving groups throughout the Kingdom. The overarching goal remains to align with and support the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting enhanced quality of life for all segments of society, particularly those most vulnerable.
