Bae Seok University Partners With Korean Missionary Association

Agreement aims to boost global outreach and develop future leaders from diverse backgrounds.

On the 21st of this month, Bae Seok University and the Korean Missionary Association solidified their collaboration with a partnership agreement aimed at enhancing global educational outreach and fostering outstanding talent among missionaries worldwide.

Held at the conference hall of the General Assembly building located in Bangbae-dong, Seoul, the partnership sets the stage for significant academic and vocational opportunities for students hailing from 66 nations where the association's missionaries are deployed. The ambitious agreement not only emphasizes recruitment of exceptional individuals but also reinforces the global capabilities of Bae Seok University.

According to the details shared during the signing, the collaboration is set to facilitate multiple initiatives, including the recruitment of global talent, internships, and overseas educational training programs aimed at nurturing practical skills among students. The leaders involved expressed excitement about the potential benefits this agreement could usher for both institutions.

Kang Hyung-kyu, Chairperson of the World Mission Committee, expressed gratitude for the opportunity created by the partnership. "Every time I visit the mission fields, I often hear from missionaries about their desire to send exceptional talents to Korea, but they struggle to find ways to do so. I am grateful to assist excellent talents to study at Bae Seok University as our agreement confirms this opportunity," he remarked.

The symposium emphasized the role of missionaries as key players in identifying and recruiting promising international students. Bae Seok University is determined to leverage the infrastructures already established through its collaborations with these missionaries to create educational pathways for talented students.

“If both institutions work together to nurture global leaders, I am confident we will achieve great results,” remarked Lee Kyung-jik, the Planning and Industry Vice President of Bae Seok University. He also noted how the agreement symbolizes the university's growth as it seeks to establish itself as both local and global, or 'glocal'.

Adding to the importance of the initiative, the agreement aligns well with the Ministry of Education's 'Glocal University 30' project. This program promotes significant innovation at local universities through governmental and regional assistance, aiming to bolster education quality and accessibility. The government plans to provide around 1 billion KRW over several years to support 30 selected institutions until 2027.

The synergy between these partnerships reflects broader aspirations within South Korea's educational framework as it navigates global challenges. The collaboration not only targets improving educational outcomes but also seeks to position Bae Seok University as an influential institution within the international academic arena.

Attending the agreement signing were numerous notable figures including Lee Kyung-jik, alongside other leadership members from both the university and the missionary association, highlighting the collective commitment to education and international outreach.

During the event, Jang Hyung-jun, the Secretary General of the Association, amplified the need for training future talents. "This is a great opportunity for students to receive education and training from Bae Seok University, equipping them for their roles as missionaries," he stated. His remarks underline the long-term vision of enhancing missionary effectiveness through rigorous training.

The institutions are preparing to work closely on these initiatives to realize their educational goals, thereby creating pathways for foreign students to contribute significantly to their home countries upon completion of their studies.

By actively participating in these educational endeavors and outreach programs, Bae Seok University aspires not only to attain prestige within its home soil but also to make impactful strides on the global stage.

Through their collaborative efforts, both the Korean Missionary Association and Bae Seok University aim to set new benchmarks for educational partnerships, with aspirations of cultivating skilled, well-rounded leaders for sustainable global development.
