The simulation for the 2025 Baccalaureate exams kicked off today, March 24, at 9:00 AM, starting with the Romanian Language and Literature test. Students scheduled to take the exam were given three hours to complete their papers, which are provided by the Ministry of Education. The final results of this simulation will be displayed on April 8, 2025.
Students were allowed to enter the exam rooms until 8:30 AM, bringing only an identification document and optionally a bottle of water. According to Adevărul, the exams are monitored with audio and video to ensure a fair evaluation process throughout.
Before the exams began, sealed envelopes containing the test subjects were opened in each room. As soon as the students received the subjects, they immediately commenced writing, with a strict time allowance of three hours to finish their papers. Notably, any mistakes made in the students' works can be corrected by crossing out the incorrect part and adding the correct answer in accordance with the established methodology.
This year’s simulation serves as an opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the Baccalaureate exam format before the actual sessions that commence in the summer. The Ministry of Education confirmed that the simulation will be conducted in 1,318 high school units, involving approximately 123,000 students.
One innovative aspect of this year's Baccalaureate simulation is the digital evaluation of the papers. Upon completion, the works will be scanned in each examination room and uploaded onto a digital platform. This process facilitates random assignment of papers to evaluators from different regions. Evaluations will adhere to a detailed rubric, and the application will automatically calculate the average grades assigned by the teachers. If discrepancies exceed one point, the paper will be sent for review to an additional two randomly selected evaluators. The final results will be generated automatically and cannot be contested.
Students sitting the Romanian Language exam will be assessed based on several competencies, including the correct use of language and communication strategies in various contexts, as well as coherence in writing, grammatical adherence, and stylistic analysis of texts. They will also be tested on their ability to construct arguments based on literary and social themes. Evaluation will include both text comprehension aspects and the ability for critical reflection on discussed topics.
The simulation continues with the compulsory profile test scheduled for March 25, followed by the optional profile and specialization test on March 26, and the native language test on March 27. Results for these assessments will also be disclosed on April 8.
