Meanwhile, Hollywood icon Richard Gere made headlines at the recent premiere of his new series, The Agency, held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on November 21. The 75-year-old actor was accompanied by his family, including his wife Alejandra Silva, 41, and their son Homer James Jigme, who is already 24 and towers over his father and mother.
Photographs from the event show Gere and his son dressed elegantly in matching dark suits, complemented by white button-up shirts, as Silva sported a chic gold pleated skirt paired with a matching crocheted top.
Gere shares his son Homer with actress Carey Lowell, from whom he separated after marrying in 2002. Their relationship was long-standing, beginning when they first met in 1995. The couple finalized their divorce in 2016 after years of amicable co-parenting.
Currently, Gere and Silva are preparing to relocate their family, which includes two other sons, Alexander and James, from New Canaan, Connecticut, to Spain. Gere explained during his appearance on The Tonight Show how his wife, being Spanish, encouraged the family’s move as it would benefit their children linguistically and culturally. He elaborated, “My wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years here. And so we're going to spend some years in Madrid.”
With his sons being bilingual, he notes, “they are going to flourish there,” highlighting the opportunity for their family to embrace Spanish culture and lifestyle.
