Austin Butler And Richard Gere Dazzle Fans With New Projects

The actors showcase their latest roles and embrace family moments on the red carpet.

Actors Austin Butler and Matt Smith were recently spotted filming Darren Aronofsky's upcoming crime thriller Caught Stealing on location in Queens, New York. The film showcases Butler as Hank Thompson, a former baseball player who finds himself immersed in the gritty criminal underworld of 90s New York City. Smith’s character undergoes quite the transformation with his unique hairstyle, as seen in the set images. Accessorizing his role, Butler was seen donning a blue shirt and intriguing his fans by holding a cat.

Directed by Aronofsky, known for acclaimed works such as The Whale and Black Swan, Caught Stealing is based on Charlie Huston's novel of the same name. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Zoë Kravitz as Yvonne, Regina King as Roman, and Liev Schreiber, among others. Aronofsky expressed excitement about the project, stating, “I am excited to be teaming up with my old friends at Sony Pictures to bring Charlie’s adrenaline-soaked roller coaster ride to life.”

Sanford Panitch, President of Sony Pictures’ Motion Picture Group, praised Aronofsky’s vision, calling it “too exciting an opportunity to not be a part of.” The film is set to hit theaters in 2025, promising to divulge the captivating story of Hank Thompson's challenges.

Meanwhile, Hollywood icon Richard Gere made headlines at the recent premiere of his new series, The Agency, held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on November 21. The 75-year-old actor was accompanied by his family, including his wife Alejandra Silva, 41, and their son Homer James Jigme, who is already 24 and towers over his father and mother.

Photographs from the event show Gere and his son dressed elegantly in matching dark suits, complemented by white button-up shirts, as Silva sported a chic gold pleated skirt paired with a matching crocheted top.

Gere shares his son Homer with actress Carey Lowell, from whom he separated after marrying in 2002. Their relationship was long-standing, beginning when they first met in 1995. The couple finalized their divorce in 2016 after years of amicable co-parenting.

Currently, Gere and Silva are preparing to relocate their family, which includes two other sons, Alexander and James, from New Canaan, Connecticut, to Spain. Gere explained during his appearance on The Tonight Show how his wife, being Spanish, encouraged the family’s move as it would benefit their children linguistically and culturally. He elaborated, “My wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years here. And so we're going to spend some years in Madrid.”

With his sons being bilingual, he notes, “they are going to flourish there,” highlighting the opportunity for their family to embrace Spanish culture and lifestyle.

These recent celebrity moments serve to remind fans of the continuing allure and evolution of their favorite stars not just on screen but within their families and personal lives.
