Assam HSLC Results Postponed By Chief Minister

Students await new date for HSLC Class 10 results after announcement delay

The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has postponed the announcement of the HSLC Class 10 board exam results that were originally scheduled for April 10, 2025. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made this announcement via Twitter on the evening of April 8, stating that the results are still being prepared and will be released once finalized.

More than 400,000 students sat for the Assam HSLC exams this year, which took place from February 15 to March 3, 2025. Practical exams were conducted on January 21 and 22. Students will be able to access their scorecards online using their registration number and date of birth at the official websites: sebaonline.org, results.sebaonline.org, and resultsassam.nic.in.

To pass the HSLC exam, students must secure at least 30 percent marks in each subject as well as an overall total of 30 percent. This requirement remains unchanged from previous years. In 2024, the overall pass percentage was 75.7 percent, with boys achieving a pass rate of 77.28 percent and girls at 74.41 percent. Notably, 80 percent of transgender students who took the exam also passed.

Last year, the districts of Chirang, Nalbari, and Baksa were recognized as the top performers in the HSLC examinations. Anurag Doloi from Jorhat topped the 2024 exams with an impressive score of 593 marks, followed closely by Jharna Saikia from Biswanath district, who secured 590 marks. A total of 20,552 students received star marks, while 6,392 achieved distinction, and 105,873 were awarded first division.

As students await the new announcement date for the HSLC results, it is advised that they remain patient and continue checking the official website for updates. The Chief Minister's tweet emphasized the importance of ensuring that all preparations are complete before the results are announced.

For students who do not pass the HSLC exams, the Assam board plans to conduct compartment exams by August 2025. This will provide an opportunity for those who did not meet the passing criteria to improve their scores.
