AS Roma Faces Crucial Transfer Decisions For Cristante And Le Fée

With inquiries from AC Milan, Napoli, and Sunderland, AS Roma navigates player offloading and acquisitions amid transfer window.

AS Roma is actively engaged in the transfer market as inquiries about players Bryan Cristante and Enzo Le Fée heat up. The club’s director, Florent Gisolfi, is reportedly evaluating opportunities to offload some players as new arrivals are anticipated.

According to Calciomercato.com, Cristante, who has seen his position diminished under new coach Claudio Ranieri, has drawn attention from both AC Milan and Napoli. The latter is rumored to be interested as they look to boost their midfield options. Cristante, still recovering from an ankle injury, is expected to make his return to action by mid-January.

"Cristante is one of the players Claudio Ranieri is willing to sacrifice to make space for new arrivals," Calciomercato.com reported. With his current contract extending until the summer of 2027, his substantial salary of around 3 million euros per season may also drive Roma to seek alternatives.

On the other hand, Sunderland has taken initial steps to acquire Enzo Le Fée, another midfielder who has found it challenging to secure playing time since arriving from Stade Rennais last summer. Transfer expert Matteo Moretto revealed, "Sunderland have asked for out-of-favour Roma midfielder Enzo Le Fée, contacting the player’s entourage." Although Sunderland has not yet made a formal offer to Roma, the inquiry reflects the new coaching direction of Régis Le Bris, who previously managed Le Fée at Lorient.

Le Fée’s time at Roma has been confounding, as he has logged just 460 minutes across 10 appearances this season, with only three matches under Ranieri’s guidance. Given this scenario, it is believed the club will entertain offers for the 24-year-old midfielder during the January transfer window, where teams look to bolster their squads.

Claudio Ranieri’s arrival at Roma has necessitated some changes within the squad, and as the winter transfer window looms, the mix of departures and potential new signings presents both challenges and opportunities. With reports of interest from prominent clubs, the fortunes of Cristante and Le Fée may soon shift, potentially reshaping Roma’s midfield dynamics significantly.

Overall, AS Roma’s transfer strategy appears to be focused on revitalizing their squad and addressing areas of concern highlighted by recent performances. The outcomes of these potential transfers may prove pivotal not only for the players involved but for the club’s aspirations both domestically and on the European stage.
